Hello I am new here. I searched for a forum on ADD and found this. Im writing this email from my lab at school due to being overwhelmed with fustration while trying to study. Im currently studying for my MCSE and its a very tough subject and my ADD is holding me back, I have been here today for 3 hours and only was able to learn my first 15 minutes here, nothing after that point registered in my head. some days are worse then others.

Anyway back to the point, I have tried strattera for a little less then a month days It gave me a bad pain in my right side which I through was possibly my liver hurting so I stopped it. Im not sure how well it worked but I didnt like it. My doctor then put me on Concerta which made me extremely wired as if I was on crack. I went to school on it and remeber it was really hard to learn that day. Basically I was too hyper to learn anything complex.

Now my question is what other Medicines should I consider? My doctor doesnt know anything, I have been too 2 and both are no help. Im not sure whats left. My ADD is extremely bad now, and I need to do something. I have a pretty hard test scheduled in less then 2 weeks my ADD is so bad it feels physically impossible to study the majority of the day. Please help, thanks in advance for any replys..:)

Hi and welcome!

Check out our Medications Section where I am moving this post! Lots of good info there.

If the Strattera was helping you might want to try again, or at least talk to your dr. about your concerns about the liver. A simple blood test will tell if the liver is in trouble.

Good luck.

Hi Dave...welcome:) :) :)
Strattera can cause some constipation as a side effect. This could possibly be the reason for the stitch in your side. I'm not pushing strattera, just thought if it worked before, with your doctor's guidance you might want to try it again.
I do take strattera ...about three months now....and had some side effects but they are very mild now.

Hey Dave, there are lots of different treatments.
Check out the index :)

I haven't had the opportunity to try anything else because of
coexisting medical reasons.
But I may be able to try Adderal in the future. I won't hesitate to
switch it if it is more effective.
