Yahoo Messenger can be a very helpful tool.

Appointments and tasks can be set up through the Yahoo Calenadar and reminders can be sent through both yahoo messenger and to your email address.

There is also additional software which can be download to sync yahoo calendar with Microsoft Outlook and PDAs.
These are also free.
What I did was set up a Yahoo Group for my family, then put everyone's birthdays and anniversaries, etc. on the calendar, along with reminders that get sent out a week in advance.
Then I can add my own personal reminders for myself, that only I can see.
The group is not public, so no one can view the calendar, etc. Its also a great place to keep the family's contact information, etc.

Don't you find any web-based calendar, organizer, etc., to be frustratingly slow compared to apps running locally? I do. And I have broadband. I tried a couple, and I found that if I had a lot of information to enter, or the site was bogged down, I just became impatient and moved on to something else.
It's nice to be able to log in from anywhere, though.

I checked it out and the one thing I really like is the reminders...I have set my events to remind me by email and also it sends me a text message on my cell phone...great!! Since I always put my cell with my keys I "usually" remember to take it with me. If I have remembered to charge the phone it works great...lol

I was using my MSWorks calendar for a long time til somehow it crashed on me and I haven't gotten around to reorganizing it. I've been using yahoo calendar since then, and it works great!

I tried yahoo calendar and it does not work for me. The reason is I am so bad at checking my email in yahoo. I am so use to Microsoft Outlook at work and love it. Outlook express does not offer the same features but I don;tknow how to configure Outlook to be my main email program instead of Outlook Express.
Hello,
Just a few words to signal that yahoo ( www.yahoo.com ) has a very valuable
and free Web personnal pages where you can put your planning, your favorite news subjects and survey your e-mail.
It's a web service after you have subscribed to it ( it's free ) you can access to it from whatever computer. For myself it's a great help to coordinate my personnal life with my professionnal activity.
Last but not least Yahoo provide a document holder ( 30 Mo ) where you can save your documents from one computer and retrieve it from another computer.
For me it's a life savier to manage my appointments and the bills planning.
In the subject of computer documents management, i'm very found of the various desktopsearch software wich are provide by yahoo, microsoft or copernic.
For those like myself, wich work with an old computer under Win98, the copernic desktopsearch software is the only one compatible.
That's all. Hope it helps
Does someone( livingwithadd ) know how to synchronize Outlook and Yahoo CALENDARS ?
I just know how to synchronise my contacts beeween these software ?
