Hi! :)

Do you have different projects going in the same time?

Would you prefer to focus on a project at a time or is there some way you can use your tendency to jump from one project to another to your advantage?

For me it works well to do a little bit of this subject, then a little bit of that, then a little bit of a theard one, then get back to the second one, etc.

Maybe you could bring all the different materials you need to study for all the projects you're working on, and then when you switch from one to another you still have the material for the first one before your eyes so you're reminded of it and it's also readily available to switch back to.

Hope this is of some help...

Keep a day planner and sechulde yourself homework time as well as the other task and keep following it so it becomes a habit without the drugs.

Do you have a nice roomie? My roomie and I would help to keep each other on task, by just helping to concentrate. If you don't have one, or they're not supportive, it doesn't hurt to talk to your teacher. Sometimes they can be very understanding about work space. Sometimes it helps me to just have a sceduled time in an exact place every day/week/ect to help me get the work done. Your teacher can maybe check with a center on campus, or some even offer up help in thier offices. If not you can also try to partner up with someone in the class. Even just sceduling to work at the same time with them can help to get things done, and they can help you organize and pick and choose order for tasks. Just a few suggestions, I hope one will help!

Pigeon, college is a bit different in the UK,there are so many of them around people usually don't need to move away from home/into halls of residence etc at all, unlike unis-less of them around so student housing for those is big business.

randomways,i think would be important you get an appointment with a pysch. as soon as possible, because having an official diagnosis can make all the difference at college.

It helps having a tutor who understands, talk to them about the difficulties you are having.

i find a PDA helps with remembering important details,if you like computers and have spare cash it might be worth checking out.

another thing i find that helps,I am helped by support assistants and the tutors themselves, in classes, they help me keep up with the work and with organisation ,memory retention and so on,if you're having real difficulty and your course is theory based-you could enquire about the possibility of a support assistant, but whether they would do that for someone without a official diagnosis,i don't know.

thxs all

am seeing ppl about the ADD to get it fully dianosed (Sorry about spelling) but it taking some time, the collage has aready seen my ADD and ahs give me alot of help on it in collage and same with my dyslexica but the troble is at home

me making a planning sheet is imposable, i know there ways of doing but i gotta remember to look at it which i never do, its more of a problem of staying on the course work and doing it for more then
my tutor is pretty helpful anyway, always makes sure i'm all right and doing my work right

the course work hoping is the best idea so far but has a few gitchs, i may hope to msn or the internet and forget about the course work, i do that too often and can't go do course work by hand because of my dyslexica, also whats a PDA?

What I did during the exam period:

Pull the ethernet cable out of the wall and out of my laptop *and* disable my LAN connection via the system settings. Switch any instant messengers off, take my browser icon out of the task bar. Made it impossible to head off to a random page or start a conversation with someone instead of reading my lecture notes without thinking, since I had at least three things to fiddle with before I could switch from Powerpoint to the 'net.
