Adderall has been working well for me in terms of gaining focus and clarity on mundane tasks. Another is in stress situations - can it be that Adderall dramatically multiplies them?

I was in a public speaking situation. I was all ready to go - did not feel nervous and was relatively calm. I slipped up once, then it was all down hill from there. I felt my mouth go dry, my chest tighten up. I could feel my heart pounding. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. It was intense anxiety well beyond what I have ever felt in the past and not justified by the gravity of the event.

I can't help but think the hightened attention of the Adderall is driving this anxiety. A friend of mine uses beta blockers before public speaking because he can't do it without it. The affect is opposite.

Perhaps Adderall is working against me in these situations?

I'll state the obvious. Amphetamines can create or enhance anxiety. Anxiety can be triggered by stressfull situations. The combo can make things worse.

Other things can contribute to the combo: caffeine, lack of sleep, empty stomach, timing of the Adderall dosage.

Maybe it was the Adderall, maybe not. If this happened only once, I don't think its a pattern. Don't take Adderall the next time you speak publically.

Public speaking used to terrify me. Now I have little problem with it, with or without Adderall. The anxiety bloopers pass quickly.
