View Full Version : Choosing the right meds Gil R 07-12-05, 02:26 PM Hello. I want to ask the psyc for some new meds. i know i dont want Ritalin LA, i had it before. I was wondering which meds work best for you? Johna 07-12-05, 02:54 PM Adderall is the only add/adhd medication that I have tried. minn306 07-12-05, 03:08 PM Gil, you have to remember that every one reacts differently to medicines. I had tried Adderall but found it not to work for me. Right now I am on Concerta which I have not had any problems. The best thing to do is talk to the dr & find out what medicine might be the best for you. It might take a couple different "trials" to find the one that works the best for you. Your poll is a good idea though. It is great to see how many people are on each type of medicine. Good luck to you!! Scambled rever 07-12-05, 10:12 PM I was put on adderall and It totally relaxes me, so I can focus, eat and sleep in a day with no problems. my dose is 20mg 2x's a day.My dr. thinks I probably need more if I'm able to go to sleep during the day on that amount though. But I just think that you'll need to try one for a month and move to the next if it dosn't work, good luck.I no longer show hyper signs like before I started it. I'm 45 years old and starting to learn how to live again, WOW! SCARY but exciting too. Best.......chris m. LittlePrincess 07-25-05, 12:58 AM I have tried both Adderall XR and Adderall short acting. They both have worked well for me. lars 08-12-06, 03:06 PM I have taken every drug you have listed on your poll except Strattera, and by far Dexedrine worked the best for me concerning central nervous system stimulation. It does have some peripheral nervous system stimulation, but it is tolerable compared to the other stimulants on your poll, and for me it's really a trade off as I need more of the CNS stimulation to help me get through school. Desoxyn was by far the best drug for me when it came to having no PNS stimulation. There was none whatsoever with Desoxyn, which made this a tough choice for me when deciding which was "best" when taking your poll. |
