I had an interview today and they asked me to fill a medical questionnaire. Being honest, I stipuled in it that I experimented depression and that I have ADD. I had to put it in an enveloppe that just a doctor will have an access to.
I don't know what they are going to do with that. Do you think I did a mistake by being honest? I'm not sure if it's legal to ask such questions in Canada.
I will follow on if I get the job or if I don't.
Jackinbox,
Did the questionaire ask if you had ever been treated for depression?
Did the questionaire ask if you had a mental disorder or learning disability?
Did the questionaire ask a general question like:
Do you have a medical condition that would affect your ability to work or be employed?

No. It was just a list of common medical problems with a yes/no checkbox. I was supposed to check everyone that I experienced so far. One of them was depression, the other was "others psychics conditions" or something like that. I checked both of them and wrote "Attention deficit" under it.
Thanks. I was just curious about how specific the questions were. The questionaire for life insurance for our new mortgage asked about Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus, but no other forms of rheumatic conditions. This is an interesting topic. I wonder what the privacy laws are?
