Some manufacturers have plans which provide medication at a savings to those who are in financial need. I think that these are administered through your doctor(?) so you should talk to him/her about it, or check with the manufacturer yourself.

I know that some times you can get medicare to pay for one medication incase your insurance does not cover that type i.e. learning disabilities. That is what I did because my parents were not going to pay for it and it was hard to afford.

how did you do it though?

by calling the company, or a state thing?

Just a helpful reminder:

Medicare is a government-run healthcare program for people over 65, Medicaid is a government-run healthcare program for people of any age who meet certain low-income requirements.

An ex-girlfriend of mine who takes Prozac (which is related to why she's an ex-girlfriend) does not have health insurance, but she found that Eckerd pharmacies have a prescription drug discount plan. I believe that most chains offer something similar, I just happen to know that she uses them. It is not insurance, but it is a program where people who do not have insurance can get discounts if they shop at that particular pharmacy chain.
