I have posted about my little girl whom is NOT sleeping and I took her to a child psychiatrist today and she WAS ON-concerta 36 mg which she is gonna stay on that and she added Seroquel 25 mg at 4 pm and at bedtime.She said NOT to give her the clonidine 0.3 mg and trazadone 50 mg unless she wakes.I was told once before to NEVER just totally pull her off of the clonidine all at once and today i was told to,im lost dont know what to do anymore.It just seems to me as if these doctors just wanna drug our kids up and send us away,im stressed BAD tonight.I gave her the Seroquel like 4 hours ago she is still wide awake and is nowhere near sleep.Im stressed and do not know what to do anymore.Her psychiatristtold me when she goes back to school next month to have the school test her for sensory something,i always thought a psychiatrist could do so or set us up somewhere for that.Im sorry i seem as if im screaming i feel like i am but im sooooooooooooooooo worried about my little girl.I just want my little girl to beable to be a little girl and she can not becasue she is do medicated,it makes her someone she is not and it makes her terrified of people which she is not off of meds.
Does anyone have any suggestions?I could pull her off of everything yes but then i will have a maniac on my hands because she will be depribed of sleep for days before she finally falls on her face for a hour or two,no joke.HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP me please give any sugestions you may have.

Lipz, did you check out the Seroquel website? It sounds like it doesn't start working for a few weeks. I thought your daughter was having trouble sleeping for a while now? Is it possible for you to get some respite care? It's difficult when you aren't getting enough sleep yourself.

Yes it has always had a hard time sleeping always,she will be 8 and she is like taking care of a new born baby.Respite care?What is this?ive heard of it but have no clue what they so or what?I checked out the website,thank you but from what i can see its for bi polor disorder?My daughter is ADHD combined type and sleep insomnia,severly.

I'm not familiar with government agencies in the US, but where I live, Social Services can provide help for parents who need a break from caring for high needs family members.

Are there times when she does slow down?

She is like a motor boat going 100 miles a hour.Her day time med(concerta ),helps for a few hours somewhat but that is about it.

Has she always been like this, even in school?

Even in school yes,the teacher loved her becausse she is soooooooooooooooo smart and very polite but she could not stay focused for anything.She has Always been like this,started a colic baby and is still going full force.:faint:

Does she get into things at school?

No she does like go to the computer and play on it while the teacher is teching a lesson and she likes to sit and pick her fingers and toe nails til they bleed and so on.
