As many of you know ,I have a little girl whom is ADHD combined type with insomnia, she has been flipped around like crazy with her meds and im soooooooooooooooooo tired.Tonight as i do alot gave her a bath in lavendar and i also sat right down on the floor and played barbies with her while she was in the bath and put bubbles on her chin like santa and made her laugh so hard we just had a really good time. When she got out i layed her down and rubbed her back and legs and arms with lotion she was sooooooooooo relaxed. She fell asleep within 30 minutes after, she is out like a switch.I will let you all know in the am just how long she did sleep.Im going to try to lay down and get some sleep while she is so i will post again in the am,night.

I am glad the lavender bath helped along with the sleeping pills, and she was able to go to sleep for you. I hope you are able to get some sleep too.

She did wake up on time in the middle of the night and THOUGHT she was gonna stay awake with the tv on LOUDLY,mom thought not.I got up and talked to her for a brief moment and said to her look at it outside sis its still night time,it was like 3 am its time to go back to sleep even for a hour sis(because once she is sleeping if she sleeps longer great) and she layed back down it took a little while but when i went back in a hour she was out she got up at 7 am im like wow, there is peace out there.

maybe its to do with overstimulation before she crashes. I know if im doing something mentaly intensive and / or stimulating for the senses and then try to go to bed straight after you can guarentee it will take longer for me to sleep. A computer is a good example. If im doing something intensive on a computer (playing a game for example) then try to go straight to bed it just doesnt happen. The amount of thaught process thats renderd doesnt stop once the comp is off and the sensery stimulation (visual / auditory) can totaly spin me when i try to relax and go to sleep.

Just a thaught since like having a bath and relaxing and talking would kinda fit this theory and people with ADhD / ADD sometimes have sensory issues.
