Has anyone here switched from Dexedrine to Adderall? I'm asking because I'm having some adverse reactions to Dexedrine (depression, spaceyness, tired).

I'm just wondering if you did better on Adderall and/or if it was any different.

Thanks for your help!

I doubt most who make such a switch experience much in the way of a real difference. Any difference felt will likely be because of a different dose or placebo effect. That said, everyone's biochemistry and anatomy is a bit different but it's a good bet you won't notice much/any difference. Except possibly more peripheral (blood pressure, etc.) stimulation from the Adderall as it does contain levoamphetamine.

Maybe your Dexedrine dose is a little too high if you are feeling spacey. I've heard that Dexedrine is a little more potent mg for mg compared to Adderall because dexedrine is dextroamphetamine and Adderall is mixed amphetamine salts (4 substances). For example, I've tried both and for me 5mg Dexedrine feels about the same as 10mg Adderall.

Hope this helps!

Hey Littleprincess,

Thanks for your input.

My pschy. bumped me UP to 20 in the a.m. and 10-20 mid-day (spansules). I had a great afternoon yesterday (took 20). I sat down at my computer in the a.m. and was able to hammer out an essay (and not just any essay...this was a damn good one! Strange huh? Well, we'll see how today goes!
