Hello, im switching to Adderall soon. I hate the tastes of a lot of meds,
so my mom said she would give it to me with sugar (LOL). Will this affect
the performance of Adderall? Also, what is your experience with Adderall?

Your mom giving Adderall to you with sugar isn't a problem. Just don't drink orange juice when you take it, that will effect the performance of Adderall, but sugar won't. There is a thread about what effects Adderall in this section, somewhere!

Will you be taking Adderall IR (immediate release) or XR (extended release)?

I've been on Adderall IR for over 6 years and I love it. It's worked wonders for me.
It's changed my life. But not everyone has the same experience.

I am going to start takin adderall, in like a week. But so far I have heard that if affects your blod sugar(makes it very low), you don't wanna eat sometimes, you lose weigth, you might get depressed or stressed...loads of things. But if you have heard somethign that i ahev not heard reply to me with the info.

Adderall, I'm pretty sure doesn't effect your blood sugar, it effects your appitite - suppresses it. You lose weight due to the suppression, so make sure you eat!

There are side effects, just with any other med. Getting depression from taking Adderall is unusual. More often than not, if the med works, people are happy because they're able to function better. Same thing with stressed - usually not as much because you're able to function better.

Here are some side effects listed on my 'scrip info sheet:
"Possible Side Effects: Side Effects may go away during treatment, include dry mouth, unpleasant taste, upset stomach, nausea, diarrhea, loss of appitite, weight loss, constipation, nervousness, restlessness, dizziness, or difficulty sleeping."

Dry mouth is typical when you first start taking Adderall, but it usually goes away. There is definitely loss of appitite. If you take Adderall too late in the day, you will have difficulty sleeping. As for the rest, I've heard of people getting nausea, but it usually goes away after a bit, same with diarrhea.

The side effects typically go away within a month.

When you take a new med, it takes time for your body to get used to it; you also maybe jittery the first few days on Adderall - due to this.

For me, my only side effects were dry mouth (lasted a week or 2) and I was jittery for 2-3 days.

The benefits I've gotten from Adderall: focus, focus, focus. I'm not distracted when I'm on the med. I can pay attention to my professors, friends. I can study for longer than 15 minutes at a time and retain the information. I can sit still.

The med (immediate release version) works within 15-30 minutes of taking it.

Adderall may make you not remember to eat. But if you sit down to eat, you'll eat. That's what I've found. I'm hungry, but I don't notice being hungry sometimes.

If you don't like it after trying it for awhile, as LivingIn said, you can stop taking it. No problem. And if it makes you nervous, it'll wear off in a couple of hours-- Adderall make me calm, though :)

I used to get Barr brand generic Adderall. Barr is flavored with sugar, or saccharine. I actually liked the taste of it!

Adderall has helped me a lot. Calms me down, helps me focus. Helps me deal with people much better than I used to. Hope it helps you too Gil.

Okay, i took Adderall XR (5 mg) today and heres what i did. first, i open up
a flavored Pixi Stick and poored it in a little dish. then i opened up the Adderall
capsule and poured in the granules. mixed it together, took it off of a spoon and
drang a big gulp of water! It works! you cant taste the granules at all and they are
the same texture as the sugar in the pixi stick. And it tastes good! Now im waiting
for the results.
