Ok is it just me or is it time for school to start?

My kids are driving me nuts and I mean it this time...I think.

Koda's goal in life is to see my drug away in a straight jacket I am sure. Yesterday alone he picked over 12 fights with his sister and if she wasn't in the mood to participate he would mess with the baby making him scream or cry.

At supper he wasn't about to eat burritos cause everyone knows he only likes tacos so I made a few hard shell tacos for him which he by-passed for burritoes.

Last night I caught him with the pie I made for my sister he wasn't going to eat it, he was just looking at it with the knife in his hand is all. I tried to force him to sleep at night by making him lay next to my bed on his camping cot and sleeping bag, well once I was out-he was up and wrecking havoc on my house.

First he let his new Geiko out of its cage and it got away from him we awoke to the sounds of things being thrown around the living room. I looked over and saw that koda was out of his cot . I got up and walked into a mad house there was Koda running in circles flipping over the coffee table and ripping the cushions off the couch looking for his snake on legs so I immediatly jumped onto the rocking chair and yelled for my husband who found the stupid critter attached the mess of my son's pajama shirt.

I then force him once again to go to bed and awake about two hours later to Koda standing over me saying "Ma I think I made a bad mess" OMG what now. I follow him towards the bathroom only to find that halfway into the living room I have water over my toes. "Koda  " "well I was running a hot bath so I could sleep and forgot my superman toy and went to my room to get him then I thought I might read a book too and then I don't know but when I came out for something to eat there was water" now this is about the sametime I realize I still hear water running. He didn't even shut it off!!!!

So, there I am at 2am cleaning up this soppy mess and washing the towels and cleaning the carpet so it doesn't stink and I look over and Koda is messing with the tv when I asked him to stop he said he pushed some buttons to see what they do but now the tv won't make sound. This is where I lose it I look over at my son lovingly and ask you know mommy loves you right? right!!! and you know mommy only wants what is best for you right? right!!! so you'll understand that mommy only means it in the nicest way when she says IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR BUTT IN BED RIGHT NOW I'M GOING TO SELL YOU TO GYPSIES right? so you want me to go to bed now right? :faint:

Lexi was a walking, talking, screaming, temper tantrum all day. I'm hungry, I want, I want, I want, Koda did this, Koda did that, can't you make Garrett shut up.

Garrett is sick with another ear infection and is miserable.

Where was I? O yea is it time for school to start yet? :faint:

YES! It most certainly is time for the little *darlings* to go back to school! I recently dubbed this summer the SUMMER OF COMPLAINTS! Every single solitary day I have had to put up with them badgering each other, picking at each other, and nagging each other on top of doing the very same things to me! You see I am an only child and this whole sibling behavior thing is a bafflement to me. Next summer they are going to go to day camp even if I have to work 2 jobs to pay for it! To matters worse they aren't going back to school until August 25th and have been out since the end of May. That's just almost 3 entire months of me trying to be entertainment director! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I am losing my mind!!!!!:faint:

Gourmet something tells me I'd be left holding the stinky end of the animal. So, I'm gonna have to pass on the offer of a teen and wait to see what my kids have in store for me in a few years.

August 23 here and counting. Today is the 22 right?

Its so strange how they can act like that one night and sleep like angels the next. But, this morning and from now on until he gets on some kind of schedule he is still getting up at 5am. lol

Futs, this is actually a great plan before school starts. Too many parents wait until the last week or, heaven forbid, weekend of summer to try to get kids back into a sleep schedule that works for school days.

I have to post this...

Once when I was asleep my ADHDer put red nail polish in her HAIR because she wanted red hair like Mommy. ACK! What a mess that was. I should have known then that Mommies are not allowed to sleep!

lmao Stacey

Koda wouldn't go to sleep last night, he is bound and determined to keep on his schedule. I finally gave up and fell asleep on the couch so that if he got into anything I would hear him.

Now its war the extension cord to the television will be taken every night leaving him nothing to do but read as I will have to sleep on the couch to ensure he doesn't get into any trouble.

I think some of it has to do with depression issues and some issues are Doug and I losing control of the situation. When he got in trouble yesterday he stuck his tongue out at me and said "Uh" and ran from me in circles laughing "you can't catch me". Yep, we have definatly lost control of the situation and its imperitave we get it back and fast.

When you have an add/adhd child, it is imperative that you sleep with your eyes open because you never know what they will do and when.

Everyone has always given me trouble all my life for sleeping with my eyelids "a itty bitty tiny bit open". I have done this all my life.

Now I know that this "gift" was given to me for a reason. God knew that I would have this inquisitive, active son and that if I was able to act as though I was awake even though I was sleeping, he would behave better.

I guess this has worked. He must think I am awake when my eyes are a little bit open.

I can't think of anything he has done while I was asleep. But then again, he takes Clonidine at night which knocks him out.

It also helps that us mothers have eyes in the back of our heads and we see everything.

OMG sleeping with your eyes open is freaky.

My nephew sleeps with his eyes wide open and his mouth is always hanging open. My sister in law informed me that he had a pretty hard hit on the head and needed to be checked on often for the next 24 hours before leaving him with me to go to work. NOt a big deal since I work in the nursing field and know how to do neuro checks.

But, I've never actually seen this kid in a deep sleep. So, when I got up to check on him and he was laying there eyes wide open, mouth hanging open not responding to my verbal cues or physical stimulus I had Doug call the ambulance while I called his mom.

by the time the unit arrived we had gotten him awake and responsive. Turns out he's just a heavy sleeper and I'm an over-reacter. Luckily everyone thought it was funny but me.

I imagine that was quite scary! I usually sleep with one of my eyes open, but I snore really badly so you know I am really asleep! One of my girls also does this. We also sit up in our sleep and can talk to you when asked questions but not actually be awake. We're a weird bunch!
