=================

My name is Krestina Amon and I am currently completing my Honours year
in Behavioural Health Science at The University of Sydney, Australia. I
am writing to you in the hopes that you would be able to assist me in
my research study on the Stress and Coping Behaviour of Parents with
Children with ADHD.

Supervised by Dr. Andrew Campbell, and Dr. Gomathi Sitharthan at The
University of Sydney, the focus of this study is to explore parental and
caregiver stress and coping mechanisms, and the self-perceived effects
on their children with ADHD. Using Internet research methods, we are
looking to invite parents and caregivers of ADHD children to complete our
online survey, investigating their demographic environments, varying
stress levels experienced, and a variety of self-perceived coping
mechanisms applied.

Your website has been viewed as a useful site, not only on information
on ADHD, but in assisting parents and caregivers with support with
their situations. I would like to ask if you would be so kind as to link
our research website (http://www2.fhs.usyd.edu.au/arow/adhd/) to your
website so that we may be able to collaborate with your online users in
our study. In return, your web address will be added to our website links
page and your organization will be acknowledged in appreciation of your
collaboration in any future publication of our study.

Any participants will be assured anonymity in their involvement, and
the ability to freely withdraw from the study at any time without
discrimination or prejudice.

Supported with previous studies on the epidemiology of ADHD and its
effects on the child’s family and social contacts, this research project,
with your help, can further explore the area of parental stress and
coping behaviour of parents and caregivers of ADHD children, and look to
present results on global patterns of stress and coping. As a global
investigation, this study will explore avenues that may shape future
studies on the coping techniques used by parents and caregivers of ADHD
children.

If you would like further information please feel free to contact any
of the project members.
