I am going into my 2nd / 3rd month on adderall xr..

It is finally now working the way it should be.
It took quite a while to get into my system I guess.

Many people I know who take it got results at the beginning of them starting it.
Not me.

I was frustrated and kept suggesting to my doctor that I needed something else. He just said be patient and keep with it for a few months.
I thought he was nuts.

Turns out he was right. Just takes longer in some people to get the full effect.

My advice for those of you starting it. Stick with it for a few months before deciding it isn't working.

It took me a good 5 weeks but now I am getting all the wonderful help I needed.

Focus is better, moods are even, constant feeling of being overwhelmed is gone. Crabby feelings are gone... I feel like I can accomplish stuff now..

Has anyone else had it take a long time to start working?

I noticed the effects after taking it for the first time.

The med is working the same, but during those 5 weeks, you are learning coping skills without even relizing & things get better, you are more focus, meds play a good part, but it's all up to you.
