Yes, I am writing this at almost 5am and I am still not tired.
I've been an insomniac since I was little. By little, I mean it goes back as far as I can remember, to some degree.
Sometimes it is worse than others.
Over the past couple of years, I cannot sleep before 5-6am.
I still manage to get to work, but my days off are the only time I get any sleep.
I take methylin ER and they say stimulants keep you up, but honestly, I wouldn't notice a difference, haha.
I lie down and try to sleep but wind up blinking at the ceiling for awhile until I inevitably get up again.
I could have 1-2 hours of sleep and be out of it all day, but once late night hits, I'm fully awake.
Does anyone else deal with this?
Did you beat it? How?

Yes, I go back and forth, some nights I may sleep somewhat early (possibly 1 or 2 am) but only if I've been up early in the morning for several mornings. That is why I work 3-11pm. By the time I get home, I am wide eyed and bushy tailed, as if it is afternoon. When I was in college, I tried to schedual as many afternoon or night classes as I could. I also worked closing shifts then as well. Because most nights I am up late, between 4-6am, the 3:00 shift works well for me. I can sleep until 12 or 1pm, sometimes even 2, which gives me enough sleep. I still have a hard time waking up though. I set 2 alarm clocks and still sleep through them. I could sleep 12 hours and still be tired! I've always been like this, even as a child. My poor mother had a heck of a time getting me up and ready for school in the mornings!Of course I wasn't up until 5 then but late enough for a child! I jsut couldn't sleep!
I guess you could say I never acutally "Beat" it, I just dealt with it. I could function on only a few hours of sleep. Then I discovered that I could schedual most school and work hours later in the day. It stinks though cuz the rest of the world is on a "Normal" sleeping schedule.

I give up. I guess the best way really is to just deal with it.

So now I'll be working nights. I'm awake all those hours anyway, and I'll be able to sleep during the day with no repercussions. Got a raise for taking that shift, too...a fairly big one for this company.

So, I've changed my mind. Insomnia rocks if you can make it work for you! :D

I barely remember what sleep was like. I mean - sure I woke up refreshed.. but what a big waste of eight - twelve hours! I'd rather grind my teeth all night and read about the rest of us not sleeping. (instead of all these essays overdue)

Ive suffered from this problem and saw a Neurologist specializing in sleep for it and am going to go back to him when this semister is over. I am currently taking ambien to fall asleep at night and that helps me so i fall asleep, but I am still tired thoughout the day. I take 1-2 20 min naps every day and this really helps for like 3 hours, until my next one. I exercise a lot and everything, I wonder if this is an ADHD thing or not
