So i have just recently been diagnosed with ADD. and I am currently taking 10 mg Adderal XR every morning. I take 20 on days i have class. I have always been somewhat shy, but over the past few years have developed Social Anxiety which can be moderate to severe depending on the situation.

I hear that adderal is also used sometimes in treating Social Anxiety, and wondered if anyone had any significant results themselves?

this has probably been addressed before. but i would appreciate if someone would like to enlighten me?

well i was diagnosed as having ADD, and also would be pretty shy and anxious in large crowds of people i don't know. I noticed on ritalin IR that this problem subsided quite a bit, and i activly seeked out social situations... i haven't tried adderall, but let us know if it helps you at all!

I found that both Adderall and Ritalin help with social anxiety. One thing I've always hated is walking into a large gathering where I know no one. Both Adderall and Ritalin (not together -- I've tried both at different times) have made it feel effortless.

I do have to say, however, that after three months on Adderall (I only lasted a short time on Ritalin), the overall effects of the drug, including the lessening of social anxiety, seem to be diminishing. It's not that it's not effective at all - it's just that it's less effective. I've increased my dose of Adderall from 5 mg XR to 10 mg XR to 15 mg XR. I think I either need to go up to 20 mg XR or try to combine Adderall with another drug to boost it.
