My adult daughter just began ADHD treatment (again) after being off of meds for several years. She is petite, to say the least. At 5'2" tall, she weighs maybe 90 lbs. A major reason she quit years ago was weight loss. On Concerta, what tips can anyone suggest to GAIN weight.

Thanks

This is not unusual. When I was in 7th grade, I weighed like 83 pounds lol If she is losing her appetite, then it might be due to the medication. Try having the doctor set her on a time released dose so that it is disbursed throughout the day. If she wants to gain weight, eat lots of protein. That's what I did and by the time I was in 10th grade, I could get into a size 7 jeans. It will also help if she exercises regularly along with the protein. Now, I'm a twig again...but you can't win em all haha

At 90 pounds myself that was one of my concerns as well... luckily, I haven't lost my appetite :) But my doctor did say that if I do, I could space the timing of the meds so that I would be hungry throughout the day when the meds start to wear off. She also said that one other solution would be to eat a bit more high-caloric food (who can complain if the doc says you can gorge a carton of Eddy's ice cream :))

Hope things work out for her!
