View Full Version : How an ADD-only world would looks like?
Jackinbox 09-02-05, 08:13 AM Can you imagine a world with adders only? I guess that life would be easer for us because life would be something completely different. No bills to pay, no cars to fill, no stupid bureaucracy...
What do you think? How it would looks like?
omg,,,, lmao hopefully not like many ADDers houses and cars and everything else. But then again,,,, life would be less stressful maybe
adhdxyz 09-02-05, 08:48 AM It would be great to live in an add/adhd only world. :)
We wouldn't have to check the mail for utility disconnection notices prior to going shopping for something that we don't need and don't have the money for. Everybody would be doing that.
It wouldn't matter that we have 4 vehicles, 2 motorcycles, 2 boats, 4 trailers, etc... for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids because it would be "normal" to have all these things in an add/adhd only world.
It wouldn't matter that dirty laundry was piled up because everybody's house would look like that.
You'd be able to invite anyone into your house and not be embarrassed because they would feel right at home.
It wouldn't matter if an add/adhder was late getting to work or if they leave early or run long errands at lunch because they forgot to do something. Everybody would be doing that.
In an all add/adhd world, it wouldn't matter that your kid didn't turn in their homework, or that they did something sporadic like pulled the fire alarm at school. It would be a "normal" add/adhd behavior.
It wouldn't matter that your dogs didn't have updated rabies tags because you didn't have the money, and when you did have the money for the shots, you forgot they needed them.
In an add/adhd only world, it wouldn't matter if you walked out the door with makeup only on one eye because you got distracted and forgot the other one. It would be Ok because other add/adhders would have the same "one eye look".
Oh..it would be so nice, wouldn't it?
I love this theroy. I think we should create an ADD world!
brandilyn 09-02-05, 12:26 PM In my world, everything would be everybodys to have.Nothing but a community working together to make it go round.Anyone who would hurt anyone else or steal would BE BANISHED!!!!LOL!!!!
brandilyn 09-02-05, 12:28 PM OOPs!!!! I think that was a fantasy world!!!!Still a nice thought though.....
stori813 09-02-05, 03:07 PM An ADD friendly world that I would love.
But for myself an ADD only world I'm not sure I'd like that.
I can't imagine how that would be.
brandilyn 09-02-05, 03:56 PM I know, there are so many diffrent levels. It might not be pretty!!!!LOL!!!!
stori813 09-02-05, 04:01 PM LOL brandilyn That's what I'm afraid of.
It could turn out to be a very scary world. :D

Oh my! Is that related? Because I do that and I'm always afraid I am going to get into trouble. I get REALLY distracted at lunch time and I always go like half an hour over my time allotted=\
FightingBoredom 09-02-05, 04:48 PM The more I watch other people the more I think that ADD is the norm and not the other way around.
I think we're still trying to follow an industrial age workforce driven life that just doesn't work anymore.
I think an ADD only world would look something like that seen in Star Trek.
Everyone would be doing what they are best suited for and we would be more interested in exploring the universe than making other people bend to our will so they can get more stuff.
Everyone would be willing to sacrifice self and selfish needs for the greater good of everyone while still maintaining individuality.
In fact, I see some great similarities between the "Borg" mentality in Star Trek and the way things are in this world NOW.
THE ADD WORLD WOULD HAVE NONE OF THIS:
We are expected to become part of "The Collective" and not be individuals.
That's why I take my meds...to mesh with "The Collective" and be a productive worker bee to provide for my family and I teach them to be good little worker bees in the public school system and work to be part of "The Collective."
THE ADD WORLD WOULD HAVE NONE OF THAT!
The ADD world has NO weapons and no need for weapons. Our minds are the only weapons we need. In the ADD world if you can't settle things over a battle of wits then you just forget about it. And nobody cares that you didn't settle it...but we remember how much fun it was to have the battle of wits where everyone walked away breathing so we could have another battle of wits at a later date in case we remember the important points that might possibly have won the battle.
In the ADD world I wouldn't need to go get my son at the Bus Stop right now because I wouldn't have to worry about some whack job pervert snatching him from the street while he was chasing butterflies on his way home!
stori813 09-02-05, 05:02 PM Beautifully written FightingBoredom.
Very touching.

Thank you! You are obviously already one of the inhabitants of this world I speak! There are many more out there who can join us, so lets keeping bringing them in, ok? ;)
stori813 09-02-05, 05:31 PM OK :) That's defiantly a good idea.
meadd823 09-02-05, 06:32 PM Now when we discuss the messy houses and dis-organized work areas as being normal if this were an all ADHD world we are forgetting about the OCD tendancies of many in our population.
In my mind an all ADHD world would have the overly organized, prefectionist and the dis-heavled, masters of paper work disasters all together in society as too much peace would be way too boring. Debates instead of war which could only be accomplished by eliminating greed.
No matter how ADHD effects us, I think we all can agree that the following would be way cool.......
no stupid bureaucracy...
Weather overly neat and organized or just the opposite I think both "types" of ADHDer agree that bureaucracy is basicially pointless and all it does is slow down production. Less bureacates means less stupid paper work which would mean less pointless boring paper garbage cluttering our homes, business, or our land fills!!!!
Jackinbox 09-03-05, 11:05 AM There are many studies on the behavior of adders as individuals but, as far as I know, none on how they behave together. It would be interesting to compare how a group of adders work versus a group of non-adder. It would give us a good idea of an adders-only world.
lostdog65 09-03-05, 01:20 PM An ADD-only world? Living it...but it's okay...they know me there! LOL

Scatterbrainz 09-06-05, 08:53 PM In an ADHD world............................................. ................................
Work
Constant thinking and body in motion and not trapped at desks and in cubicles 8 hours a day...........palm pilots instead of computers for sales and no monitoring statements or having to say anything verbatim.... your own style sales and moving freely to help you think and make sales..... wide open space....... just a general layout of features on the palm pilots.....and headphones.....
Always allowing innovative new ideas and ways to do things
Life
No bills to pay at all
Maids to clean your house since you hate it and cant pay attention with it
Grownups being kids again and having fun just the way kids do
accepted with your adhd/add instead of being criticized and put down for it
Everything fun and leisure open 24 hours a day and automated so people dont have to work and making everything as instant as possible
No little stupid restrictions in life like no pets, no smoking, etc etc etc
............and I'll think of some more later...........
