New on here so bear with me if this is redundant...

My 14 yr old niece has been taking Strattera for almost 2 yrs. She was diagnosed with liver failure in May and has been on a transplant list since June. The doctors have been reluctant to link the med with the condition but I have seen the FDA warning issued in December and the link seems apparent to us. She used to be vibrant (& very energetic) and now she is too weak to get out of her hospotal bed most days. She is dependant on blood products daily because her body has quit producing them. Any info anyone has would be appreciated greatly!

And please be an organ, tissue and blood donor!

Sincerely, Stephanie :confused:

trust your instincts. You have black and white evidence in the form of a FDA warning. Those things taken incredible amount of evidence to issue and aren't arbitrary in the least bit.

go to the FDA web site and file a drug reaction report. You don't have to be a doctor to do so and it's a very simple form -- I've done so myself before. Make sure you check off the box that says the FDA/drug manufacturer can contact you for follow-up {maybe two separate checkboxes, I don't remember anymore}

this way you know you're getting all the latest information direct from the sources most in touch with the larger picture of this devastating side effect.

also, for anyone else reading this:

if you live in the U.S., on your driver's license you can tell people you wish to be an organ donor -- it that's simple :-)

Thanks for the info and blessings! Ashley is still in the hospital but she has stabilized lately. The doctors have told her that she may get to go home by early October.

Has anyone else heard of a similar situation?
