Of course it is much more rational to believe in Xenu the evil intergalctic space ruler who brought the souls of space aliens to earth 75 million years ago. He then stacked them in volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs.

Scientologists handle mental health issues through such wonderful methods as the "introspection rundown". Lisa McPherson was a Scientolgist that was treated to this "therapy". She was cured, permanently. They killed her.

It's easy to be annoyed by this organization. Is the organization still directly linked to Scientology or do they say that they are "independent"?

ha ha, this meassage cracked me up - scientologists are definatley manipulative self-righteus tossers. I think they do have some valid claims about drug-companies having too much power and problems with psychiatry - misdiagnosing, over diagnosing, and pushing drugs where often drugs are not needed.

Once we start defining the victims and perpetrators where does the story end? L Ron might even claim that this thread is Victimizing Dianetics. No one is innocent and no one is guilty because these words are abstractions of the magnificant mind. This is just thinking that resonates at the level of the instincts. In all my life I have never seen a victim or perpetrator. What do these objects look like? Oh, they are not an object, they are concepts formulated from the relationship between objects. The closest thing to victim/perpetrator is another concept biologist call predator/pray. But, this is very different because we do not see animals as moral or immoral. Humans perpetrators and victims aren't eating each other, unless you are talking about Jeffrey Dahmer. Humans believe in perpetrators because the think of themselves as victims. With all the victims and perpetrators human society resembles a place we want to put all the perpetrators, HELL. If we could just get rid of those evil perpetrators. The whole idea of perpetrators and victims sounds more like paranoia or phychosis than reality. The Hell that is evident in our world is not a result of humans hurting humans. The Hell in our society is caused from Humans and their concepts of humans. The Hell occurs at the level of the individual mind. Yes, something is wrong in our society, but the problem isn't L Ron Hubbard. Our society as a whole is savage. As a whole. As a whole. As a Whole. See, when we define good old L Ron as a Perpertrator, what have we just done? We just put our faith in the idea of perpetrators. And, Guess what? Everyone you meet will be your victim or your perpetrator, because this is what you believe. Your parents are perpetrators and you are a victim. To your children you are the perpetrator and they are the Victims. But, we are talking about abstractions in the mind. There is a word for abstract thinking. It's called dreaming. The problem isn't between victims and perpetrators, the problem is making up storys about humans, and then living the story. See if I am correct by getting rid of just the concept of victims in your life. What happens is you stop dreaming in your head, and you experience life as it is which is beautiful. Then you realize something very strange. You see all these humans who are alone, who have traded human relationships for relationships with pets because they suffering from fear of being victimized, from guilt for abusing others, from anger at the perpetrators. But, what is strange is you know the only place that suffering really exists is at the level of the mind.

Ok, are we ready to round up all the perpetrators?? Someone wake me up, its a nightmare!!

First time in this forum - pardon my ignorance, but I'll take the risk.

If someone shoots me, I won't think of him as a perpetrator. I will not see myself as a victim either. But let me tell you he might kill me or hurt me and I will avoid him next time (if I survive) even if he is not a perpetrator. Furthermore, I will avoid people pointing at me with guns!

I'll take the object "bullet" and the object "body" and put them together as the feelings of pain or possible death. And I still won't be able to avoid thinking that a particular human hurt me (one who had a gun pointing at me and then pulled the trigger), even if this is not the reason for the hell in our world. This human - and others with a gun pointing at me - would be a posible hell in my world.

Abstract thinking is being able to consciously put together ideas in the mind; we do it when we do math, for example. I suppose dreaming could be abstract, but it would be only an instantiation (possibly unconscious) of the the more general ability of abstract thinking.

As I said, I am new here. You might be expressing some belief system to which you adhere. That is fine with me. I am glad you are happy!
