Have you guys experienced increased libido on Adderall and the opposite on Concerta (methylphenidate/Ritalin)?

Does Dexadrine (dextroamphetamine) increase libido for any of you? More so than Adderall?

I am talking about the mental aspects, not the ability to achieve an erection.

Dex killed my libido in the beginning. Now two years later I see no influence on my libido either way.

So much of what I've learnt from dex has taken a long time to settle into an awareness. Take your time. It was a few months, it seems to me, before the dex appeared consistent and stable to me.

When I was in Nursing school, we had a drug clinic staff come in to talk to us about HIV, and IV drug users, etc. (speed, heroin, morphine pill injectors, etc)

Anyway, yep, Speed does that.

That's why people who inject Speed are at high high risk for HIV, etc. They then have the have _false libido/hornies_, _false stamina_, and in high enough doses, speed really screws up their judgement about safety. (They become _reckless_. Remember -- in mega doses, Speed can cause Psychosis. Who wants to be Psychotic? OMG.)

I have also learned that Some rec drug users will also use stimulants AND Viagra. Crazy.

The risk in too much sex -- is that too much tissue stimulation, causes tissue breakdown (raw skin)-- and those micro-tears are an entryways for viruses, etc.

PS. Mixing Viagra and Stimulants can cause Heart Attacks. :(
They have opposite, powerful Actions on the blood vessels. Good way to _Stroke Out_, too. :(

OMG! I am a newbee here. Reason I came out searching for site like these because of my wacked out sexual increase. Now, I feel not alone. Jeeeze, my "libido" is out of control. After reading a good number of threads, I am certain its the Adderall XR. I did not take my Adderall XR today, because I want to "chill" today. My God... However, I am SOOOOOOOO not going to be productive today at work.

Yes, Adderall (regular release) increases mine. So did Dex and Ritalin.

But I'm single and want to stay celibate til marriage.

So while the increased libido is frustrating, the Adderall helps me to stay focused, so I don't obsess about sex so much.

Yeah, Adderall caused an increase for me, too, but after a year, it has mostly worn off...or maybe I just no longer notice it.

The wonderfully ironic thing was that it also made it easier for me to concentrate on things without getting letting chicks completely distract me...basically allowed me to focus on my professor's insanely boring lectures and the hot redhead across from me at the same time.

It can increase the sex drive, but it should also hopefully make it less distracting.

Yes, it seemsADD Drugs do that. I noticed a serious increase in my system.

I had to stop taking mine because Dex man me much more agressive and thats dangerous if like me your trained in fighting.

I'm just going through my medication trail runs right now. The first 2 weeks I was taking Ritalin and noticed a significant decrease in my sex drive. I was then switched over to a 2 week trail of Dexedrine 3 days ago and noticed a big increase in my libido immediately. I hope that doesn't change because thats one "side effect" I could get use too.;)

Stimulants like Ritalin or Dexidrine never impared my sex drive. But PROZAC really gave me can I carefully say soft peter.

I'm 50 years old and have always had a high libido. Adderall sent it off the chart. My girlfriend has never been happier. This med also caused a slight ED problem but I have found that if I take it early enough in the AM then there is no problem at night. sometimes I don’t take it on weekends depending on the daily plans.

as a slight side note/rx the initial adjustment period of effexor can grant viagra like powers in the right dose ;] (increased stamina and control -- although too much can leave you err... unable to climax once in a while heh... fun for the ego)

but alas, the withdrawal symptoms of coming off effexor are hell so... be forwarned read up on the drug first particularly on web boards and such in addition to reg spec sheets.

also, i used 10 mg of prozac to come off effexor which did reduce any withdrawal side effects quite nicely although i was on a very low dose of 75 mg for a long time. the prozac seems to do nothing for my libido though although it too is very low dose.

I havne't noticed a difference... accually by going onto Adderall XR.. I've been more able to control it at times.... but I wonder if I'm not normal anyways.... I "do it myself" every night before going to bed and most mornings before getting up.. and now and then I will also get one in durring the day...

I feel that this might be a little excessive.. but I figure that if I have a girlfriend and we are intimate... the intamacy is a better experiance that lasts longer and thus tides me over longer than does just doing it myself.

now I wonder if I do it myselff too much. I have a girlfriend but not with me at the moment... I'm stuck in IRAQ and have been for 2 months....

I just got diagnosed with ADD and so far, adderall has leveled off my sex drive to a normal level. I think I was self-medicating with sex but I could go 5 times a day(only gotten a girl to do that once, after not seeing her for a few weeks), every day if I had a girl with as much spunk. It makes so much sense now that I've been diagnosed... sexual relations is something I've always been able to concentrate on and it provides such a clear mind. Haha its a good thing I've got this adderall now though because I am single now which could have been a bad situation pre-adderall ;)

Mine was off the chart on both counts with Concerta.

Dexedrine, i found, helped overcome the problems caused by any SSRI (zoloft/prozac/paxil) sexual/climax impairment.

I just take Dex now, though. (levels were increaseing each other, so i was getting lots of tension, muscle tension in my shoulders, back pain, etc.)

Often, the fewer and the lesser amounts of ADD and anti-depressant drugs, the better. At this point, i take 1/2 a Dexedrine, 3 times/day. (Sometimes 4x, if i'm up early, or if it's a long, long day.)

I'm glad i clicked on this Thread, when i saw it, despite being female.

It would be very improbably for a women to start such a thread -- and this is an issue for females too. The cl!tor!$ really is a tiny penis, folks! Same nerves...

Without meds I'm so very very focused on her. ITs like the only reason I exist at that moment in time is to please her. Make every one of her wishes come true, and when she is happy and satisfied.... I become happy and satisfied.

I really don't know about ON meds yet as I havne't had any encounters, but I hope to once I return home to my fiancee and we are together. We will see if there are any differences...

Speaking from years of experience with Methamphetamine addiction I can say you are 100% accurate.
Methamphetamine turned me into a sex crazed-poronography addicted animal. I've been clean and sober for seven years. When diagnosed with ADHD the pieces of the (why) I was drawn to Bennies-benzidrex inhailers-and finally Mathamphetamine became clear.
Meth helped me feel good about myself and made my ability to focus supreme. Unfornatily I focused on sex more than anything else.

My doctor started me on Pemoline three years ago and recently because of the FDA taking Pemoline off the market started me on Ritalin.
The comparison of Pemoline & Ritalin to Meth is like candy to gasoline.
Adderall has Methamphetamine in it but the dosage is so small I doubt if it would effect most peoples libido. If it does I'd recommend talking to our doctor and switching medications.

I'm 61 now and started on Bennies at 15. I spent most of my life using speed in one form or another. Trust me, Speed kills. Don't increase dosage. Take only as directed. If you feel the desire to take more than the prescribed dose tell your doctor. The desire to take (a little extra) especially for sex is natures way of telling you you might be on the road addiction.
The temporary pleasure you'll feel now will end in pain and suffering in the end.

Keep it up! ;)My sex drive was pretty low prior to taking Adderall. I started Wellbutrin XL and Adderall at the same time and within a few days I noticed a change. Long story short, I was like a 15yr old again (I'm 31). The down side is that it has a "mind of its own" much like it did when I was 15. Things come up at the worst time. I can live with that, though.

The good news is, after a couple of months on Adderall, it seemed to level out or maybe I just learned to deal with/manage it better. It's not a problem now.

I've been on Concerta, Ritalin, Adderall and now back on Dexedrine and the viagra-like effect was a universal side effect and it really doesn't bother men to have that side effect but I get it from stimulants for some reason too
