Does anyone ever get that feeling?

I feel so scattered and overwhelmed with all the stuff thats going on. Im moving in a month and I just dont know where to start with that. Im newly diagnosed as an ADHDr and ive looked at so many things to try and organize my life and what to do in the workplace since Im having problems there, but its all to overwhelming right now to implement any of it. And I just dont print it out after im enamored over it for awhile..............i lose interest and all motivation. I just gave up. I know it won't work for me now. And now, im extremely bored.

I have such high hopes and aspirations in the morning, then it all seems to fizzle at night............................................. ...

I dont know where to start..........

Im just in outer space practically.

Do you think your medication might be wearing off too early?
You don't say what you are taking: Adderall might be better for motivation than Ritalin.

Snappy, Im not on anything yet.....................................I was just newly dxd but im waiting for my psychiatrist to get back next monday to put me on meds for the first time. My tester was only a psychologist. So i have to wait another week yet. Its the hardest thing in the world. And i have a lot that i have to do in the week ahead. Im trying to hang in there on the home front and the work deal until it comes through.

I have good news!

It is extremely likely that you will experience a major improvement once you are treated.

I also experienced feeling overwhelmed before stimulants - this changed within a few minutes after taking them.

Hopefully the meds will make a big and immediate difference. I can still get feeling pretty overwhelmed even on meds. Recently when I was in that kind of place, my therapist gave me a very helpful piece of advice -- he said just focus on doing one thing a day. That didn't seem nearly so overwhelming, so I did. Just one. By focusing on doing just one thing, in two days I was able to finish the paperwork I was suppose to have turned in two trimesters earlier that had been zapping my energy and hanging over my head for five months. That was encouraging, so I moved on to something else. Breaking things down rather than trying to do it all can really help.
