Hi I am new to this forum, and i need some advice!!!
My boyfriend doesnt understand my son, they continually clash. What am i to do? I love my bf very much but i can't handle the fighting. Is there someway to make them both happy??? Is there someway i can get him to understand that my son's problems are not just acts!!!!!

I don't know if it's possible or not. Is he willing to read anything on ADHD or listen to any tapes on the subject? Education is the only answer I know to change someone's perspective on things. Have you had your son formally assessed and diagnosed -- perhaps he would visit the psychologist or pediatrician with you and discuss it - coming from a professional he might take the information more to heart.

I also believe education is the key here. My family had a hard time understanding and believing at first. The more I learned and educated them about his condition the more they understood. Good luck to you.

You know, my son has ocd, and its hard on all of us includinghis own father, who loves him more than anything. So if biological parents struggle so much, I can not imagine how someone else could deal with it. But like the others said education is the key- I research as much as I can and its helping me cope with him and deal with him. Good luck!
