Hi everyone.
I'm from a large, very close family and have four brothers in the army reserves. These are not only my brothers, but my closest friends. One will become active, destined for Iraq this Oct.8. The other three will be taken in January. One will go to Afghanistan. They all are married and have young children. If you don't mind a thought, a prayer or two, I would be grateful.

My oldest son is in the National Guard and will be up for active duty in June after he graduates college and completes his officer training. Of course this is frightening and I am numb over the news that we will be without them all for such an extended period of time.

thanks y'all.

What an extreme hard situation it is when you have a loved one going over to fight for our country. I do have friends that are over in Iraq right now & it is very hard. Please know that I will put your family in my thoughts & prayers, just as I do all the other military families at this tough time

Just sent up a prayer for your family's safety and for God to sustain you while they're away. Take care, Gourmet.

I will keep your family in my thoughts. As an Army wife with a hubby currently in Iraq I know all about the myriad of emotions one goes through. See if any of the units your brothers are assigned to will be doing an email newsletter for family members or possibly an online website with updates. Sometimes it helps if you have an idea of what their mission is and where they are located.

Hey Stacey,

Sent up a prayer for your husband and family too. I appreciate the sacrifices your families have made to answer our country's call to duty.

Thank you so much everyone for responding. The information is a lot to take in. The first leaves in early October so that will be our first of many emotional responses.

One brother served at the Pentegon with Rumsfeld for two years and travelled 12 hours every weekend to see his family. This time of course will be a different story and much tougher.

sgolden...thank you. I remember now that you had a husband overseas. I'll be thinking about you too and I appreciate the advice. hugs :)

Draven, Stori, Minn, Tatorbugs_mommy, Nucking Futz, scattered, and Michelle.... thank you so much for the hugs and prayers. My family will greatly benefit from them as the year progresses. hugs back to all of you too :)

It's so nice to know such a caring bunch.
