Hi
I am a Masters student of Computer Science and I was wondering if there are Universities that offer special Ph.D programs for ADHD disabled persons. I am sure this is a stupid and dumb questionm, but since I am very interested in a Ph.D I am wondering if there is anything like that

thanks
ilango

I don't have any information on Ph.D computer science programs, but you can always google!
My guess is there aren't any "special Ph.D programs" just for ADHDers, but usually accomodations are available.

How far is Chico from Anaheim. I will be attending my graduation ceremony there in 2/06? I do not know CA well, I only know of LA, Orange Co and all that relates to Pro football.

How about my Indy Colts? We are the only ones left undefeated.. Go P-Man (Peyton Manning, if you don't know!!) Sorry, little ADD tangent there.

If you got through a Master's program, I'm sure you can get through the coursework portion of a PhD. Really, it's more of the same. Like others have said, there are accomodations available for ADHD people generally in education.

The dissertation phase, on the other hand, is completely different. You'll be required to work independently (possibly alone) for long periods, and have a very unstructured type schedule. For me, unstructured schedule means nothing gets done. So, you'll need to learn how to manage yourself effectively. It's doable, but challenging.

Hey ilango, I don't think they offer special Ph.D Programs, per se, but I'm sure that the Disabilities office wherever you want to go will have accomodations. At my school, I get extra time on exams, free notetakers for all my classes, and a free tape recorder for lectures.
