AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
okay I feel better now that I got that out!
Hee hee heeee!!
I say that every time we take our three boys out to eat....or anywhere else for that matter!
We were all in Burger King just the other day....me, my wife, 9 year old son, and twin sons 2 1/2 years old. It was the usual mayhem. Then the boys all got quiet and sat still for awhile, and I couldn't figure out what was going on....
Until I noticed that a whole bus load of teenage girls was filing in the door.
"Boys, stop staring and eat!"
fasttalkingmom 09-27-05, 08:12 PM what's wrong with you girl ???? ;)
Next time take them to a quieter place like Chucky Cheese or something :D

My little piece of advice..lol......
Make sure when you go that they are very hungry.
Mine always get quiet when they have food in front of them.
Don't give them the kid's meal toy until they have eaten their tenders.
Make sure you go to the burger king with the playport.
Make sure your hang onto their shoes while they are playing.
Go through the drive-through and take the burgers to the park! LOL
Funny story....Burger King had to call 911 twice because one of mine got his arm stuck through an opening in the net. It swelled and his arm started turning purple.
The other time we had one get stuck in the railings....trying to get a ball he threw outside the fence. :faint:

FlyGurl 09-28-05, 10:56 AM I take a trip through the drive-thru. Then head to the park or home instead of staying now...my hyper 2 year old loves to run around the whole place and cause chaos for me. I really don't like the fact that the kids have to take their shoes off...I freak out over the way dirty floors and slides....
Much rather take her to a park where it's open and the air is flowing......plus the noise level is easier for me!!! :)
I feel your pain though!!!! :)
Crybaby1898 09-28-05, 11:02 AM hey chucky cheese aint quiter it just more suitable for those kinds of kinds. lololololololololololololololol. god that was such a good laugh one i needed. i am so sorry did they cuase you h*ll at the burger kind
minn306 09-28-05, 11:03 AM I do not usually let the kids play in the play area, so this was suppose to be a treat for them
I do like the idea of going through the drive thru & heading to the park. What better way to let the kids get their energy out??!!
ms_sunshine 09-28-05, 12:26 PM Was it possible to discuss do's and don'ts of behavior prior to going to playland, to make sure they were on the same page? I've had to do that with my kids before. They also know that if they don't eat, and/or don't follow the rules in the place--whether it's Red Lobster or Mickey D's--I WILL (and have) walk right out.
Sorry your kids were gremlins, Minn. You know you aren't supposed to feed them after midnight! *sticks out tongue. (kidding)

That explains ALOT!!!
and yes we do go over the rules before we sit down to eat. And yes they do have to eat before they go play. It was just one of those nights that they thrived on making their mother loose her mind
ms_sunshine 09-28-05, 10:06 PM this was one of those moments where you almost wish stun guns weren't considered child abuse, hm? lol be strong.
Have you tried doing the process in reverse. Let them be gremlins on the playscape for 15 minutes and then get their food. Generally my kids do better after that "We get to Play!" adrenaline rush is gone.
minn306 09-29-05, 07:33 AM you all are bringing up some very good points................so here is a question for you.
If we are going to BK or any other place as a treat and the kids act up before you even go into the play area(as you are attemting to order the food)................do you still "reward" them by giving in? Won't that show that their behavior is okay???
I like the idea of having them play before to get all that extra energy out but still wonder if that is showing the wrong message on what happens when they mis behave.
Ms Sunshine...................oh trust me I have walked about many times AND that is why going out to eat as become such a treat!!
I feel for you Rach cause i have had many days like this with my little girl!!!My son on the other hand is the total opposite, thank goodness!!!
minn306 09-29-05, 07:49 AM Thank you Sandra. I know that kids mis beaving is all part of being kids. But if a parent can not "vent".............what are they suppose to do??
Gourmet 09-29-05, 07:53 AM I don't know about your kids, but there is a lot of leverage in that little plastic toy inside the kids meal.
No good behavior, no kids club meal.....all you get is the burger. If you put up a stink..we'll take the burger home.
I'm aso a believer in compromise and second chances. Lets go sit in the car for a few minutes until we can decide we can control our behavior. And if you are really good we can go to the park.
You are so right Rach!!!!Thank goodness for this forum!!!;)
Trust me with four kids, going out can always be a zoo. I almost always ask the kids for their orders before we ever hit the door, and they generally always want the same thing time after time. Then before getting out I do tell them that if they can stand quietly while we order, they can play first, then eat.
generally this gives me a few minutes to get things organized and the kids don't mind if the burgers are a bit on the cool side. if they misbehave while I'm ordering they can sit and watch the others play. If they all misbehave we do leave as soon as we get our food and nobody plays. They hate that especially when we go to Mcdonalds where they have both playscapes and video games. There is something for all ages kids to love. I always remind them "I do not reward innapropriate or bad behavior"
LOL at YOU!
Consider the phrase "divide and conquer" and take them separately so you don't have to deal with the Larry, Curly and Moe scenario. :faint: :)
LOLROFL :p
Me :D

okay I feel better now that I got that out!
No good behavior, no kids club meal.....all you get is the burgerThis helps to and I've been known to give their toy to another child that is there if I've already bought it. I know it's evil but you only have to do it once to make a believer of them.:D
so so true i have done the same!! Being tough hurts yes it does but you gotta show the children that you are serious.
LOL..and to think I got criticised for using wrist tethers for the toddler when we went out. :D
ms_sunshine 09-30-05, 08:00 PM rotflmbo @ shock collars
...darn those laws, hm? LOL I agree with Jaycee about getting the orders before you even go into the place. Let us know how it goes, if you implement any of this.
PS: 1. no food after midnight
2. do not expose to sunlight.
3. do not get them wet.
(^^words to live by) HA HA
I think they still make those electric radio controlled dog collars.....
Me :D
Hmmm rach......details ...what the lil rug rats do? I'm nosey w/o children :p
