Just added to the list of things that my son has to deal with, now on top of ADHD and ODD he has inhearited my Migraines. He gets them so bad that the school has sent him home on 3 different occasions. Sent him to a nurologist and now he has two more pills that he has to take everyday. This is nuts he is only 9 and takes more meds than I do at 29! Just venting . . . very frustrated for him. Makes life difficult for him.

I remember having Migraines in school. The school nurse would always let me go take a nap in a dark room for as long as I needed. It usually gets rid of the migraine for me. Though I will say forcing oneself to sleep with a migraine is hard work and takes a lot of selfcontrol. I know how he feels at least with the migraines, it sucks. I was undiagnosed ADD in school so I had no pills to take.
Mo gets migraines too, from me... we had a family friend suggest we let her cone his ears. He has only had 1 since. This is a homeopathic treatment where a 'candle' made of medical tape and wax is lit and then the other end put in the ear. The heat from the 'cone' pulls the yeast and wax out of the ear. It should cost around $25 for both ears, is completely comfortable, and worth a shot. Just be sure you get someone who knows what they are doing. Be sure to keep cotton in the ears to 2 days outside, and that they treat the ear afterwards with olive oil.
This same treatment will also help with allergies. It is one non chemical way to help. Hope you can try it too. (my other son and hubby loved it when I did their ears.)

Thanks for the ideas for getting rid of the migranes as this point I am willing to try just about anything.
I suffered with migraines for years, i was told by my doctor not to have anything containing caffiene, i haven't had a migraine since!
Also chocolate and cheese can cause migraines!!!

I take prescription medication for migraines but only as an "as needed" basis. It's called Relpax and has been an absolute savior for me.
