Hey Dank Kid,
Yea I just started fall quarter...This is my first time on ADD meds. I was taking Adderall IR 15mg over the summer for work...It was fine when I was at work 8 hours a day with everything moving so quickly...The adderall helped me not waste time and actually get everything done. But it's different with school.
Most of what you do is quiet, calm, and takes a lot of thinking...As soon as school started, the Adderall wasn't cutting it. I would take it in the morning, it would wear off by 2-3 pm, and I'd take another "booster" which would make it impossible to sleep.
Now I take Ritalin, which has helped with the sleeping, but NONE of the academic stuff. While my meds help me focus on ONE thing, school still doesn't seem to be that ONE THING!!!
I still can't sit through a single lecture without doing something else, like getting food in the middle of class, working on hw for other classes, or daydreaming. When I get home, I take my ritalin, sit down at my desk, and come on here. Before I know it, 3 hours have gone by and my book is still on the same page!
The *ONLY* solution I've found is listening to Tool while I read...the discordant and loud nature of the music stimulates my senses and frees up my brain for reading...
I am a Physics major, so time is of the essence for me because once you get behind, you can't catch up!
What is your major?
What year are you?

im in my first year, first semster, at a college near my house, yeah i dont take anything in the morning just a 15xr (around 12 p.m)before i do my homework/study, it helps me really focus on what im doing, only lasts a crappy 5 -6 hours, usually around 5 but yeah - man once you sit down and start doing your work, you will notice yourself just doin it and not payin attention to other crap, adderall isnt going to help you sit down, you gotta do that on your own. im not sounding like a prick i hope, and idk it may not work that easy for you as it does for me . took me a while to really figure the drug out and how it effects me as a person socially/academically - i believe i need atleast one 15 in the morning and one little after mid day, it would make a huge difference in me just that little amount.

Dank Kid what type of music do u listen to?
When I study, Tool is an essential for me. The loud music is an outlet for my anxiety and it leaves my brain to concentrate on the task at hand.
Also, I take notes in about 4 different-colored pens. The bright colors make the material stand out, and since it's more fun to look at it, I'm more likely to look at it.
