Wondering if anyone out there shares my experience with Strattera. I began taking Strattera 6 weeks ago, starting on a dosage of 25mg. I am now taking 40mg, and have been for the past two weeks. I just had the worst PMS. I felt extremely depressed with suicidal thoughts (but no inclination), was terribley moody and binged on high fat foods which I have not done in years. The benefits of the Strattera seem minimal to me right now.
Just trying to figure out if I should be giving up! My doctor won't put me on any stimulants because I have a history of tics, even though the Strattera does nothing like Concerta does for me.
Thanks for the help.
hmm.. if you really keep up the pattern, there are things that will mask the tics like Tenex which is a blood pressure med.
Female Hormones and ADHD are always doing battle, hun. Anytime you introduce something that changes blood chemistries there is a chance that it will affect PMS too. I suggest waiting a few months. The body usually tries to take care of itself, but call your doctore if it gets worse.

Please get into your doctor ASAP.
Suicidal thoughts are nothing to mess around with right now. There was a new warning release on 9/30/2005 for Strattera. It had to do with suicidal thoughts. Some else just posted a message last night about their 6 year old have suicidal thoughts while on Strattera.
Go to the Strattera website. It will have the warning posted.
Plain and simple, talk to your doctor. We welcome any and all questions, but when it comes to threads that deal with suicide, it's way to complex for this group.
