My 8 year old daughter has ADHD as do I. Would love to find some additional approach to support the meds, but I don't want to yet again, spend a fortune on something that is not going to help. The naturopath convinced me last year that she could help and now a "brain gym specialist" has convinced me that she can help. I want to believe. But am doing my best to control that impulse of mine that says just go for it...

I have been exposed to brain gym at workshops and lost interest when I learned how many hours it took the advocate to master some of the exercises. It seemed like so much work and committment when it is so much easier for me to take my meds.

I don't know about specific research, although my best guess would be that it would probably fall within the same category as Occupational Therapy.

While I haven't seen any data indicating that it does help, I've been to a couple of presentations and liked it very much.

It's fun, and like Imnapl said, "it can't hurt."

I've heard it does help to some degree and I've seen something on a TV current affair show about it some time ago....I guess it wouldn't hurt to give it a go and keep us updated on your progress!

Brain Gym was actually recommended to me for my child by our school guidance officer along with other methods of remediation.

Sorry I forgot to mention she has adhd and some learning difficulties, spelling mainly.

No, I suppose its just someones elses opinion. You have to look at things in light of all the information available. Im not an expert but its best to consult one about these things.
