thing is that i raked them 3 days ago and the lawn is alredy filled with leaves!
No fair! They should wait a month :D . Anyway, leaves are nothing but

Leaves used to be annoying until I inherited a mulching lawn mower. Now I just cut the lawn a few times in the fall. :)

I agree Gil raking leaves not on my top 100 list of fun things to do. LOL

Scuro Isn't that mulching lawn mower the best?
I have that and a leaf blower for the driveway and walkway.
I really don't like raking. :D lol

The trees just started to get there fall color here this week.
That's the part I love all the colors this time of year.

My kids love to help me rake up the leaves because we make a HUGE pile for them to jump into.

Then they also get to help me put the leaves in bags!!!

I never give them a second thought. They can sit under the snow all winter. They'll get mulched in the spring when the lawn needs mowing. I don't even consider raking them up, they get so heavy when you get half way to the curb with the growing wall of leaves.

Then again, I took the same approach to shoveling the sidewalk and got fined by the city. There was like 5 of us "twenty-something" guys living in a house, but shovelin' with a hang-over is never an option.

Oooops.

I like to rake leaves.

I like the way they sound and the way they smell, and of course the way they look.
It's good exercise.
It warms me up.
And I get my daily dose of sunshine.
:D

I'll give you a few little tips.....what, don't you want them?

*Rake before it rains.
*Wear gloves.
*Put your dog away....especially if it's a dalmatian.
*Get you one of those big bamboo rakes.
*rake them onto a large tarp and drag them to the street.
*Think about the trees...naturalize the areas underneath them if you have enormous hardwoods like we do.
*Think happy thoughts. LOL

Leaves suck! But we don't rake or mow them. When the farmers are done harvesting we just watch the leaves blow away. hehe We just keep sweeping them off the deck and porch. ;)

Personally, I'd complain more about stupid grass or stupid snow. :)

We never had a yard, so I always looked at it as a treat when I'd have to rake the leaves at my cousin's house. First you get all the leaves in a pile and jump in them, then you put them in hefty bags and have drop-kick contests, right? :)

As an aside, Japanese wives refer to husbands who lay around the house on their days off as nureochiba, which means "wet fallen leaves." They stick to everything and are almost impossible to get rid of. ;)

I was about to mulch my leaves with the lawnmower but it's below 50 degrees and raining. I may have outsmarted myself. We had a long warm fall and I should have cut my lawn last week.....
