I'm not the very lazy type. I like to learn, but i have trouble remembering information...i can sit and study and study...but then the information just don't get absorbed into my brain.

And while taking the test, my brain is empty.

What strategy do u use to retain the info? I have the problem just like all the ADDers...trouble remembering details, names, etc etc. Even with medication is not helping...i express the trouble of retaining information everytime i see my psychairtist...but he doesn't know what could be done to solve this problem.

I find that little things like making notes in the margins of the books I'm reading helps a lot. I also do my best to go to lecture, because lecture usually synthesizes a lot of your readings into a convenient 1.5-2-3 hr block of spoken word. Take copious notes if you can pay attention...;)

I had the worst time retaining anything in college. I tried so many different ways to study, to really learn the information, but nothing I tried ever worked, until I started taking Adderall (because it helped me focus, concentrate).

Is your med increasing your ability to concentrate and not be as distracted?

Because there is definitely a link between ability to concentrate and retain information.

A prof once told me that the best way to retain information (because you understand it) is to study like you're going to teach the info to someone else and even go as far as talking it all through with another person.

Have you tried study groups?
