Hey guys and gals,

Excuse me while I puff my chest out with pride and brag about my boy for a minute. :soapbox:

Koda is not only doing exceptionally well in football (to the point where he only sits out about 6 minutes a game) :D . But, he's come home today excited about making the Quiz Bowl team!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Now, I'm not exactly sure what the Quiz Bowl team is or what it entails but he made the team!!!!!

Ok I'm done now
C :p

Futs, if it's not life threatening or illegal . . . :D. I hope you give us more details as you get them.

lol I just got an email from the teacher in charge saying she sent letters out to all the parents of the Quiz bowl members informing them exactly what it is and what it entails.

I should get it tommorrow, I'll let you know. If the school knows about it I highly doubt its illegal. :p

All I've been able to get out of Koda is that he is now an official geek just like his best friend Mathew (isn't that cool mom?) and he has to dress nice, real nice. So when I started looking at dress slacks and ties :D he said "NOT that nice" :(

Aww well maybe on his wedding day

I picture this cute kid standing there telling you that he is an official geek, but at the same time, so proud of himself!

Congrats (and kick some tail) to Koda!

How cool! yay Koda!
I got similar news lately when my sister called to say my 16-yr-old nephew had been asked to join academic decathalon, like you she was a little unsure about how exactly it worked. :)

Ok here is what I've got

Its basically an academic sport with teams of 12 kids, 2 are alternates for when another player cannot participate. The teams travel to other schools and compete for trophies. The criteria for being accepted onto the team is strong school spirit and a good knowledge of a wide range of topics from math, spelling, science, history to topics of today.

Dakota scored very high in math, science and history and seems to have an above average knowledge of today's economical and social interests.

;) He's agreed to a long sleeved sweater shirt with no writing or pictures on the front and khaki slacks but that is as far as he is going. :(

Yes, parents are encouraged to attend and watch their children compete. The problem is finding a babysitter since both my mother and sister plan on attending with me. Unfortunatly, competitions will be held while his dad is working~~lucky dog. :p
