(uuh, this is copy pasted from another thread about a lady worried that her daughter is not eating, but i think it relevant to others and i dont want to write it all out again!)

hmm, yeah, i take dexedrine, and i have noticed that eating becomes a kind of chore... very unusual for me, i love food!

but what i have noticed works best is to eat something really nutricious before the med effects kicks in, (i like full-fat organic yogurt with almonds and raisins and sunflowerseeds and a sliced up apple) and then to eat another really good meal at night when it wears off. (my favorites are steamed organic/home grown veggies, beets, greens etc, and some wonking dose of protein, like tofu or fish,) as long as i know that the things i am putting into my body are really high quality, good food, i am not so concerned about not eating durning the day.

i would really disagree with the kids cereals... that stuff is really not good for your kids, empty calories, processed vitamins... not exactly feeding a healthy body/mind.

my doctor stresses that it is really important to eat protein with every meal (but eat good stuff, whatever you do, DONT EAT FACTORY FARMED MEAT, the hormons and antibiotics in that stuff is gross.) and good fats, not saturated transfats, but raw nuts and seeds, avocado, FISH (not processed or canned or over-cooked), any flax oil or fish oil you can buy and just put on your food, or in capsules, although i doubt your little girl would like swallowing them. oh, and those kinds of oils cannot be cooked, or, if you cook them or heat them up, you kill the good stuff.

apparently, certain omega-acids have been proven beneficial to ADDers, they have done clinical studies and one of the things we are missing is these omegas which are so essential to brain function.
she (doc) has me on a regimine of vitamins, all of which are thought to be some how 'useful' to ADDers, calcium, b-complex.. whatever, i can tell you more if you want.
but the most important thing is the oils.

something that is really yummy, it might sound weird, but it is in fact very tasty, my mom used to make,
chop up her favorite fruits in a bowl, like fruit salad, whatever, bananas, apples, pears, plums, whatever you got, whatever she likes (i am a strong advocate of organic foods, they DO actually have higher concentrations of vitamins and minerals) put full-fat (organic) yogurt on it, (no-fat is too sour, and make sure it doesnt have lots of weird crap in it, ingredients should be just milk and bacterias) put in some raw nuts and seeds (almonds!! yumyum) , rasins if she likes them, and then put a few spoonfulls of honey, and a couple table spoons of flax oil on top.
honey is a much better sweetener, (not refined) because it actually has beneficial properties, not like the white-death they put in kids cereals. and we have already covered the oil.
honey actually has antiseptic properties, especially if she is sick, its so yummy because it is sweet, and it is also good for her! but make sure it is unprocessed honey, as raw and natural as you can get it. when they process it they take the good stuff out.
better yet would be to feed her royal jelly... that stuff is expensive but it is probably the most concentrated goodness you can get!

anyway, hope this helped, if you can get some food like i have described into her in the morning, you shouldnt feel bad if she doesnt want to eat other stuff!!
