OK diagnosed w ADD a week ago and started Adderall XR 30 mg/1 a day. I have lost 6 pounds in the first week.....this normal?
I am a big guy, 6'1" 290#, have thrown Scottish Highlander games and am athletic. Could this be the elixir that helps me get to 250?

I lost 30 lbs since I starterd Adderall. It seems to me that it is not that you are not hungry, it is that when you are full you push away from the table. :)

A pound a day is likely due to water mostly, unless you've been running an ultra marathon since the Adderall was brought on board.
When I started dextroamphetamine I had to make sure I took in more water than I was used to. I'm not sure why, but my water intake had to go up to keep my hydration normal.
The eating was a problem only in the beginning. After about a month things seemed to level out and now I'm stable weight wise. Not that I should be. :D
Keep us posted please.
Cheers! Ian
I have no doubt it was water since a pound of fat is 3500 calories. I also was getting cramps and dry mouth so I have really increased the H2O input. Still down a couple lbs and am happy w that. I go in tomorrow for a check up so will keep ya posted.

I been taking both Adderal Xr and regular Adderal both at 30 mgs. I noticed right away within the first month, I lost weight. I try and eat more, and even when full I push myself to eat just a few more bites, and I even tried taking ensure drinks which is high in calories and vitamins 3 times a day with my meals. But ever since I been on Adderals it seems I can't get back to my original weight, I gain a few pounds close to it, then go back down again, its a continuing roller coaster. My doctor has told me its common for some people with ADD that are taking Adderal that there is weight loss, and some people never gain it all back, but he suggested to me, keep doing what I been doing, and if it gets worse then he would try me on some other form of medicine for my ADHD
