:D First of all I would like to thank all of you for your threads outlining your experiences on Strattera. :soapbox: I am 45 years old and was recently diagnosed with Adult ADD. I have had the symptoms for a long time, possibly all my life. I am a surgical technologist which is a very stressful job at times. After years of disorganization , poor planning, focusing on other conversations in the room other than my own I finally gave in. My doctor prescribed Strattera 40mg to be taken twice a day. I started on day one with stomach ache and nausia. I also had these hot flashes and some sweating. I am still experiencing the hot flashes. Over the pasty few days I have noticed that the nausia is going away slowly, but still a belly ache. I noticed that taking it with food this morning the belly ache was not so bad. I had problems with uniary retention for the first three days. I could not get a steady stream going and it was mixed with ejaculate. Very odd and sometimes uncomfortable. I have read several threads from other men with the same problems. :confused: Lately for the past couple of days I go through a period of about two hours with a euphoric feeling. Its like dilusions of grandure. I am not sure how long this will last. No problems in the sexuality department. The biggest change seems to be that I am a little more focused and calm. I have not had any other changes as of this writing. Please let me know how long the side effects last. When will I feel the changes and full effects of Strattera. Again, thanks for sharing your experiences.:)

Everyone is different, my side effects lasted for about 3 weeks. It's been over a month now and still have a few side effects. I really don't feel any more focused. Still scattered and impulsive. I am more calm and just feel more aware or awake. I am sleeping much better but also have some wild and wonderful dreams that make you go "huh?" in the morning. Again though, everyone is different. You didn't say how long you've been taking Strattera. Also, I would call your doctor since you mentioned something about urinary retention. Keep us posted!

Im sorry. At the time of the writing I was on the medication for about four days. It is now 9 days. It seems to be getting better as time goes by. I generally take 40mg in the morning at 5:30 AM before work. I feel that the effects start to taper off about 7 haours after I take it. I take another 40mg between 3 -4 PM. It is followed by a slight stomach ach, cold chills and sometimes hot flashes. I feel that I become very talkative and sometimes get a euphoric (high) feeling for a few minutes. My urinary problems have subsided.:) I also find that taking the medication in the late afternoon lets me sleep restfully all night.:faint:

hey, it sounds like its getting better all the time for you. give it some time, you will see! i've been taking it now for about 6 weeks and most of my side-effects are gone. i'm still waiting for some benefit to happen, maybe it has and i just don't realize it yet. but the worst is over...just give it time and you will see!
