Hello guyz,

I've been on strattera for 3 days now and so far i havent noticed anything (only 18mg) except for a couple side effects.......im really not sure if its the drug but ive been feelin kinda tired lately, normally im a pretty lethargic person, which isnt a good cause i've got plenty of upcoming papers and tests to complete

I was wondering if it was a good idea to take a stimulant (dexedrine, helps very much with my energy levels) despite being on my current strattera trial

I know both meds are sometimes taken as combo, yet im assuming this is considered only after the strattera has been given a full trial (4 weeks)....please correct me if im wrong

Thank you

Don't you want to give yourself a chance to see how Strattera affects you as you increase the dosage? 18 is so mild it won't do much for most. However, this beginning phase as you slowly increase, I think it is important to know what benefits and what side effects you can attribute to Strattera, if you start mixing you lose that benefit. Are you planning on going up from 18? I did not notice an improvement until 40 and now take 60. Check out the weight charts to see your appropriate dosage.

Personally, Straterra has helped my energy level, before I would almost fall asleep while driving, now I have way more energy...

good luck.

thnx for the reply,

I would like to avoid mixing meds, its just that w/ out dex studying becomes nearly impossible, especially with my workload...

following what my doc says, im on 18mg for another week then i'll be ready for 40mg in my 3rd week

i was assuming that because dex comes and goes out of your system it wouldnt be much of a interference w/ the strattera....with dex i know exactly the benefits and and side effects are so I can clearly see what symptoms strattera will be causing....

i'm glad to hear that strattera has helped with ur energy......in the past ive taken a similar med, desipimine (noreadrenline-based med) and it reallly helped me with my energy in the mornings.....however, it did nothing with my attention and that is why strattera is on the plate....Hopefully, i'll see more positive results :)
