We just had one of these dropped off:

http://www.sgi.com/servers/altix/

We need a name for it. Suggestions?

Tron...the lines remind me of the movie for some reason.

Every time I look at that monster, I imagine the monolith scene from 2001 Space Oddessey. (cue fanfare!)

Sigh... too bad SGI is teetering on the verge - they sure make purdy h/w.

Black Betty is the server from Dilbert's workplace.

My roomie's old server was The Wumpus.

My two computers are named Erwin (after User Friendly) and Shirley (from the band Garbage).

I also had a computer for a week, so I gave it the name "Mildred the Temp"... hehehe

Dunno if any of this inspires you to names of your own...

At home I name my machines after types of sushi.

So -- what kind of machine would you call "toro"?

toro = my most expensive machine

Sigh -- sometimes it seems easier to buy the latest power workstation than it is to just get one little teeny-weeny slab of toro......
