I purchased a neat program called Visual Thesaurus 3. I had an earlier version, which did not provide help with spelling, making it cumbersome for me to use (my problem with most dictionaries). But the nice folks at thinkmap sent me a free upgrade recently.
I got the downloadable, desktop verson. I use it for a quick spell check, as well as a dictionary and cool 3D mind-map of word meanings.
Reminds me of the way I think.

It's gorgeous, plus, for those little used words...you can hear the word spoken aloud.
Awesome.

Oh, I love that thing. Some guys in my program created something similar, but self-organizing, to map out activity on a popular website.

Very nice. Thank you.
Did you know that one of the words associated with "impairment" is constipation?
Hopefully, that doesn't spawn a flood of responses in that direction...lol.
P.S.
I just saw another post pertaining to the mouth....lol.
I can sense a new theory being born.
Very nice. Thank you.

Thanks for the hug, Nova! I needed that.
I'm happy that you all seem to like VT. Its great.
Good one McT! Speaking of VD (Verbal Dia...), thesaurus and language.
When I used to live in NYC, the subways had signs on how to evacuate the car in case of emergency (probably still do). The Spanish translation of evacuation was quite literal, evacuar. One of my spanish-speaking friends pointed out that she read the usage to mean, In case of emergency, sh**** through the specially marked windows.
No constipation, no impairment!
I think I want to become a Thesaurean.
