View Full Version : My favorite button in the world is the undo key.

Does anyone else agree? Far too many times I've uh, gone way too fast and added lots of mistakes to whatever I was writing.

So I undo that and try to rewrite it, going too fast against and either leaving some mistakes and maybe add a few more.

Then I look over again and notice the mistakes and change them.

Then I post it too quickly, leaving a few thoughts hanging. Or a few paragraphs completely left out.

That's why the edit post button is my second favorite.

I never consider the undo button (kind of forget it's there), but the edit button is something else. I frequently have to edit posts here (not like they're being graded or anything) anywhere from 3 to 5 times to get it right (and sometimes still miss stuff). I'm wondering how I survived college when my rough draft typed without the benefit of a comuter was usually the final copy I handed in the next morning. Either my teachers didn't read too carefully, I made less mistakes with low tech, or I've gotten a lot worse!

Although I can and do type shorter post in the little box thingies at the bottom if the words I use are short enough for me to spell.

Longer post I type out on word which is always open when I am on the forums. I let word do it spell check and grammar after corrections I then copy and paste to the reply box thingies at the end of the threads.

After a post goes up you can edit for up to 30 minutes after the post was submitted. After 30 minutes in edit mode you get "locked" out. When you try to submit changes you get this little box saying you have to notify an administrator (gee wonder how I know that  )

My dyslexia is so bad that long post can take longer than 30 minutes to edit(depending on how many times I am distracted). Typing them in word then transferring them over to the reply box can be a time saver ll!!!!!

On dial and some other programs you run the risk of being automatically disconnected if you forget to discombobulate the auto off option in the internet tools.

Hope this helps!!!!!!

I definitely agree with that. I have to use Word for everything I write, emails, forums, etc. Even then I still need to brake out my collegiate dictionary, and sometimes my Franklin pocket spellchecker, a few times a week.

Writing can sure be a pain in the butt.

Know what you mean...but it does go a long way from preventing this :foot:
