Stranger 06-23-03, 03:43 PM Does anyone know of a support group in the El Paso area? I could really use one for my family (we ALL have ADD!) but don't have time to start one.
The room is now D218, right next door. Below is some information regarding upcoming speakers:
September 15 – Lisa Routh, M.D., (Dr. Routh used to work with Dr. Amen at his clinic)--"Healing Anxiety and Depression"
October 20 – John Schoonmaker, M.D., "Meeting Your Very Best Friend in Your Dreams"
November 17 – Rhan Bailey, M.D.
(Topic TBA)
Questions? Lemme know! :D
FlakeyGirl 12-03-03, 03:42 PM In the Houston area, are these listings for CHADD chapters?
I believe they're all ADDA-SR chapters. I know for sure the ADDult group is with ADDA-SR.
The next speaker (12/15) will be talking about biofeedback. If you can, try to come! Neat group of folks!

FlakeyGirl 12-04-03, 10:10 AM Sorry, what is ADDA-SR and at which location will the 12/15 meeting be? Does it cost anything? Membership req'd?
F~
ADDA-SR = Attention Deficit Disorders Association, Southern Region. It's part of the National ADDA.
Attendance at meetings is free, although you are encouraged to join ADDA-SR, as $ is quite short these days.
Let me see if I can successfully PM you a Word document that will give you location info.....

As I feared, no support groups anywhere near my area. Its 60 miles to Austin, which probably does have a group of some sort, but with my schedule,it would be a real struggle to attend one there. Any chance of anyone here that lives in Temple or one of the smaller towns in the area? Rockdale, Cameron, Hearne, Rogers, Rosebud, Taylor, Caldwell? I am in no way a good one to start a group, but would be most willing to do anything I could to help get one started. Im not a leader, but I can be an excellent follower. (note: said I CAN be, not that I am...rofl)

I hear they are starting a CHADD branch closer to your area. You may want to check it out. If you can't find any info just contact the head of the Austin chapter. You cant get all that info from www.CHADD.org
This thread is dedicated to ADD / ADHD resources in the Texas region. If you would like to add a resource to this list, please post it as a reply and I will come back and add it to this first post.
Please include as much relevant information as you can about the resource you are submitting. What type of resource is it? A local or state organization etc? If it is of interest to Texans, please let us know about it!
Thanks!
