find it easier to work when you're listening to music?

I'm not sure why, but it seems like if I'm listening to some high energy music I can sit there and tap my foot and do my work better than if I was listening to nothing...

Anyone else concetrate better when listening to music?

At times that's the only way I can stay on task. MP3 players have made a great impact in my ability to get things done. Life just goes better with a good sound track. :D

Gets me to complete a task faster then I normally would without music.
Gotta have music playing to do most household chores. :)

I have over 600 songs on my work computer and listen to it 9 hours a day :D

I'm listening to Transiberian Orchestra right now, while working, and STILL being on here when I said I'd log off about five minutes ago !

I saw TSO last night- what a show! Made me want to put together a special Christmas selection for my MP3. TSO has some great stuff! Them and the Chieftans and Manheim Steamroller occupy my CD player at home. Funny how we use different muic for different work.

Oh yes of course! I find it hard to work without music!!

Music is practically my life. I always have music on even if its in the background. Sometimes, I have music on in the background while I'm watching t.v.! It calms me and helps me focus too. When I'm studying or working on homework or something, there's always music plaing in the background. Usually instrumental--film scores or classical.

with music most of the time i can focus. if it changes to a great song i know. i will want to sing to the song. if it is quiet then my mind will wonder.
like when i clean up around the home i will find somthing and my mind will be on that and not cleaning.
my GF keeps me in line, she is the best. she gives me so much motivation.

Yeah my wife motivates me too - to be a pain in the butt; j/k, she's great. Music is a must for me unless I'm reading, then I need to focus just on what I'm doing.

yeah, music is essential for working - usually some background ambient, trip hop, trance or stuff like that - its there but no too intrusive.

but started listening to arcade fire not so long ago and cant get enough of it!

absolutely!

I am never without my iPod... got the whole setup going, doc interfaces for my stereo/car/kitchen counter/etc. from the moment I get up till the moment I go to bed I have music going. It just helps me concentrate! if im singing along, tapping my feet, etc. I find it takes up some of my energy, and helps me avoid distractions, since im pre-distracted ;)
