hi this is my first post so i'll introduce myself
im amanda and about a week ago my mom went to a parents teachers meeting and she found that there is a chance of me having add.i have been researching it and it seems that it is quite likely as the descriptions of it are a lot like me.also there have been learning dysabilities in my family such as dyslexia and a communication disability which i do not know the name of, and also adhd.
in a couple of days i am going up to london to get tested for add.
hey do you ever get reaaally crazy?and then you start doing all these weird things like running around the table and stuff?
dude that happens to me like aaaaalll the time!
anyways i get a lot of weird looks.
hey i was just wondering...what does hyperfocused mean?
i think i have experienced it by the looks of the descriptions given.
is it like when you are writing a storyor reading a book and you cant hear anything around you?because u ar so into whatg you are doiing and if someone interrupts, you scream at them.
nyways post me all the nutty things that any of you have done kk?http://www.addforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

Welcome, Amanda!!
No need to apologize - your post wasn't long! Although, you may want to consider breaking up your posts (in the future) a bit more. It makes them easier to read with spaces between paragraphs.
It sounds like you are hyper?
I am inattentive type ADHD. I get distracted easily and come across as lazy and unmotivated.
You describes hyperfocused very well, Amanda! It's exactly that. You are so focused on what you are doing that you tune out everything else.
Does that happen to you often?
I can't say I've done a lot of nutty things - but I tend to interrupt conversations and just blurt out whatever is going on in my head. Although, I've gotten better at that!
What do you think about the possibility of being ADHD?

What do you think about the possibility of being ADHD?yes i have thought about it being adhd and i think its probably that but i am worried when the specialist is doing the testy thingys he will not see that i am hyper because i am not actually hyper in front of people i do not know.does that mean that it is not the hyperactivity from adhd?
(i interrupt my stepdad all the time and he gets really mad,lol even though it is not my fault)
thankyou very much for the reply(no-one else botherd lol)
and yes that hyperfocused thingy happens to me occasionally-
like a couple of days ago i was writing songs and i was doing it for four hours and by the time i had finished i was just like WHOAH cos i could never usually do that!

Well.... hyperness is not always a bad thing you know. And trust me you are not CRAZY! And even if you were crazy, that would be alright too. This world needs some crazy people. Having ADD/ADHD is not easy and I know that people will jugde you. For Christmas I got a book called " You mean I am not lazy, stupid or crazy?" This book helped me so much. If you have the time or the patience maybe you should read it one day. It might help. And if you don`t have the patience ... well then don`t bother.
OMI-chopstick, i have done my fair share of crazy things,
One time I was walking through a walmart parking lot, THEN I saw all these stacks of dirt, and outher stuff, so I jumped on one, and starrted jumping around on the tops of them, yelling....
my friends just kind of looked at me in awe....
Then there was this outher time I was sitting in english class, and for no reason I JUMPED UP, RAN AT THE WALL AND SMACKED RIGHT INTO IT, then I schooted across the floot back to my desk laughfing the whole time.
THEN,
there was this one time I got really mad at my friends, so I pretended to hump him IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CROWDED SCHOOL LOT....yea...I don't know why, just kinda did it wouout thinkinging.
THEN
There was this time, I started banging my head into a road sign for no reason
THEN
there was this timeI started gieing two of my friends piggy back rides after school, and I would yell "Im a ninja!" at everyone.
Then there was this time, I put a umbrealla on my back, and started chaseing little kids around during a football game
THEN there was this time, I was in studyhall, I tied my shoe to my head, and I stared singing about magicl cantalope, and danceing around the classroom,
....yea....the list goes on too if I think about itl..
OH< and there was the time I walked up to a group of my classmates and said
"HAVE YOU SEEN MY GOLDFISH, I'M LOOKING FOR MY GOLDFISH, I HAVE TO FIND MY GOLDFIDH"
...that was interesting..
LOL! You sound like a very funny person. I do things like that. Most people don't appreciate my sense of humour and my randomness.. but they don't understand that my impulsive joke telling and random statements/actions are because I think faster than them ;). I LOVE BBC comedies but I have to make sure I've gone to the toilet BEFORE I watch them.
LMAO! I used to watch british comedy myself, but then i got into manga, and you know, cartoons :p

im hyperfocus diagnosed too.... and i learned too focus it on books that i really like so i can do things like read a book that is 1500 pages long without even moving... oh and i get VERY crazy but only when im alone or with good freinds
I am the inattentive type, but believe me, if crazy was a country I would be its queen.
