I'm a Special Ed teacher and I make a point of hounding kids like you in High School. Thats because I know that most ADHD kids don't fail because they don't know the material, they fail because they don't hand in work. I'd be on your case and even have you work with me 1 on 1 to get stuff done. At some point a lot of ADHD kids mature and are more independent. If you don't hound them, a lot of them fail and consequently drop out of school.
I chase down every excuse you can throw at me and keep seperate folders of the work so that they can't lose it. They say I am mean when I do this...and I smile and say, "yes I get paid a lot of money to be mean". :)

I have respect for teachers who push me to do my work and stay on my case, as long as they don't become degrading to me in the process.
For instance, my 1st block teacher- Mrs. Stalnaker, Attempts to motivate me to do my work by harrassing me and essentially calling me lazy, a failure, and telling me I have a poor attitude.
I can't respect anyone who wishes to degrade me. If a teacher genuinely wants to help me as is the case with my 4th block teacher, Ms. Brewster, I'm all for it. 9/10 times those are the teachers that I'm going to be sending the cards on Christmas thanking them for pushing me.
Although, I think a little understanding goes a long way too. Case in point, Ms. Brewster is a teacher I confide in, and she and I regularly discuss my problems with the ADHD. She knows I'm on the medication roller coaster (or was, depending on if the Adderall XR continues to work). So when I came to her today with a confession that I did not have a VERY large project done, due to a multitude of reasons, not the least of which was procrastination. She was understanding and extended the due date until directly after Christmas Break. Giving me not only an invalueable 18 day extension on my assignment, but 7 days of that are school free and I can get much more reading done on those days.
In short, the best teachers are teachers who are understanding, but will push the living hell out of you to get your work done. :)

that is not what i meant
what i meant is,for example:
i went with my mom to a parents teachers meeting and all the teachers said yeah okay she does not concentrate and she never hands in her work and blah blah blah.but these teachers actually say something positive to me-(e.g she does actually try or its gotten better because that is TRUE)also these teachers make an effort to help me.
but the teacher IM talking about is the one that does not even tell me that i am not working hard enough or whatever, she just tells my mom.and she does not even say that i have been trying harder even though i have especially with that lesson (geography!!llol) which i am terrible at.she does not say anything positive about me- just bad things.
the thing that annoyed me most is that she made no effort to tell ME to try harder but she had to tell my mom that.
(i did not mean 2 offend anyone btw!)

Ok, and I don't mean to offend you, but maybe you *should* apply yourself a little more?
If you have been diagnosed and are being treated for ADHD:
You've been given the tools, you still have to use them. The pills "level the playing field" and make it so you can work in the typical classroom enviroment. They only make it so you *can*, not so you *will*. My Adderall XR helps me with almost ALL of my ADHD symptoms. ( doesn't make me calmer but it makes me more in control of my energy)
I still have to actually TRY to do the work. Yes, I might be intelligent enough to breeze right through the work, but if you don't make an effort the teacher will never know that.
If you haven't been diagnosed(not treated):
Go to a doctor, psychologist, whoever, and tell them what you're going through. They might be willing to prescribe something that day (if they're convinced there is a problem), as was the case with me. some things that allowed me to improve my situation minorly even without the tools the medicines provide are:
Note Taking- Have you looked into the connell note taking system? I have taken this system and modified it to meet my specific needs (which for me meant adding a series of symbols to allow me to quickly sift through my notes for points of interest)
Be active in class - If you're *anything* like me, you will learn better from discussing the material with the teacher. In some cases this meant faking that I did not understand, so that I could practically get the entire lecture in verbal form.
3 ring binder + pocket folders - Develop an organizational system for your papers to remove the chances of something being lost. Keep all notes (see the first item) in this binder as well. You will soon come to realize that this binder is extremely benificial
In short, determine what your problems are, why you are having those problems, and then solve them in the way that works best for you. The first and last item on my list are catch-all. Cornell note taking may not be the only method, but it is very organized, customizable, and efficient.
