I was writing these thots down today and they ended up being in poetry form. I was thinking about when I had study hour in the library in high school.

Keep looking at books and magazines
Can't focus on homework
that needs to be done.
Always people watching
Listen to their stories
Watch them studying, able
to concentrate on what they're doing
My own studies neglected
Magazine cover catches my eye
Pick it up
Sit down and try to relax and read
Someone walks by and
I look up
What are they doing?
Look around
Try to read again
Try to get comfortable
Fidget
Scratch my head
Play with my hair
Oh, No, The hour is almost over
I haven't studied
Open books
Head Spins
Can't focus
Overwhelmed
Distracted again.

Thanks. I wanted to post it right away since so many people say oh, no you don't have ADD. Don't diagnose yourself.

I wanted to see that it DOES relate to you. Sigh.

Hi ScatteredinStL,

This totally reminds me of how I would study in college. I loved going to coffee shops to study and I would spend so much time there studying. But a lot of the time I would be listening to other people's coversations, getting refills, reading the newspaper, studying for a while, underlining a ton with a four color pen and a highlighter. Get up, go outside, walk around, come back, get another refill, study a little more. Then I would go to the pay phone and call some friends(early 90's before everyone had cell phones).
I only had to work part time because my rent was so cheap so I spent A LOT of time at coffee shops "Studying". Great poem, one that I can so relate to.
