View Full Version : Bragg Your Hearts Out
srhtinker 12-22-05, 11:06 AM This thread is for you girls that did something physical to yourself and bragg about it without someone being jeliouse.
Everytime I got something done, I wanted to show it off. After I told someone, I always felt bad because they did'nt look happy for me. That tells you how many friends I have, right, LOL. Truthfully, I don't do to much for myself, and when I do I'm excited. Maybe too excited.
I live in FL, I'm going up to VA for X-mas. I wanted to look like I just stepped off the beach. This is what I got done.
Spray tan
Highlights
Eyebrow wax
Pretty cool, Bragg, Bragg, LOL:p :p :p
amiegrace 12-22-05, 07:00 PM I think we ADD women often forget to do those "little things" that make ourselves feel prettier and better, whatever they are.
I know what I need to do -- shave my legs (it's easy to let this one go when you you're a stay at home mom who knows she won't be baring her legs) and pluck my eyebrows.
I'll post when I do!
LacyLew 12-22-05, 09:24 PM I colored and highlighted my own hair!! It's not green or orange and not fried either! Of course, as an ADDer, waiting for the timer to go off so I could rinse it out and check the color was agonizing. But it looks good and I saved myself 50 bucks by not having the same thing done professionally!:D

That's cool, I've always wanted lighter hair, but my hair is so dark and everytime I tried to dye it , it would turn out red. My hairdresser highlighted my hair last year and it turned out perfect, I actually had blonde in my hair for the first time. My hair looks even better after the second time she did it.
LacyLew, I'm happy that your happy with your hair, even better that you saved money.
fasttalkingmom 12-23-05, 12:32 PM I put makeup on this morning and "did" my hair !!! :)
srhtinker 01-01-06, 03:18 PM I just came back from holiday travel and I looked good all week while on vacation.
SandiRella 01-09-06, 12:53 PM Hmmm.....I splurged and bought the more expensive hair dye:)

wheresmykeys 01-20-06, 05:17 PM I've managed to get myself into a routine at the gym again and I'm feeling and looking different already!
Two weeks into the routine and still going strong!!!
Nucking_Futs 01-20-06, 10:06 PM I did absolutely nothing today and feel great about that...Sorry full time mom, wife, employee and student...doing nothing IS doing something for myself.
O' and I get a message next week. Woohoo!!!!
guitarista 01-21-06, 03:10 AM Always wanted to change my hair, but have worn it long for about 40 years. Yes, I still think it looks good long at this age, hopefully for many more years too, (I hate myself with short hair).
But I did cut a little bit of shorter (bangs?) at the front and I like them. Seems less severe somehow... especially when I pull the hair back...
I'd like to change the color... but I am so happy that I have naturally become a brunette (after a lifetime of medium brown, I guess hair just darkens as we age) that I don't want to highlight. Maybe low lights!
Due to an auto accident I havent gotten around much for about 6 weeks and I am packing on pounds around my waist. oh well, at least i am here. Lucky to be alive and I guess I'll excercise again after I heal upa bit more!
Anyway, everywhere I go people say, "wow! You look great!" I was quite puzzled by this until I heard some of the rumors that had been going around after my wreck (like that my head had been stapled back together... yikes! Not so far from the truth, but that sounds worse than it reallly was- I did have 28 staples in my head, but the scar is healed and hidden totally by my hair!)
So here I am finally getting out and walking around town, 8 broken ribs, 5 cracked vertebrae, neck brace, etc... looking fairly good, feeling very grateful... new hairdo... getting a big butt... oh well! Like I said, I'll excercise soon enough!
Nucking_Futs 01-21-06, 11:21 PM I can't help but feel grateful that your here to complain about your big butt. Things could be far worse.
Big hugs, healing takes time, read a book, take a bath enjoy yourself *wink, wink*
Scatterbrainz 01-22-06, 03:52 PM i finally had the strength to part with my long obnoxious no maatter what knotty hair and let the salon cut it to a more manageable yet feminine updated look. i actually like it and no more pointless hair wars to the point im ready to cry lol
