I'm on 25 mg of AdderallXR. For the past couple weeks or so, I've noticed that I have shaky hands. Not so bad that it's noticeable to anyone else, but I notice it just doing every day things. The rest of me isn't jittery - just my hands! Anyone else experience this?

Yep.
I have always had it when I take pseudophed, too, but it was the only thing that did anything for my sinuses (until Adderall!)
I've been on it for 2 months now and have found that it's decreased a lot, but it hasn't gone away completely. At least not yet.

My hands shake all the time, even before I started taking Adderall and they have for as long as I can remember. The more I try not too the worse it gets. I'm so embarassed because of it. Sometimes people ask me if I'm nervous.
strange--my hands started doing that a year or so ago--I had been long off of medication then. Lately, it has gotten a bit worse.
I just started taking adderall this morning--I have noticed that my movements are a bit quicker. My movements seem a bit more controllable--and it's been strange. I'm not used to feeling control like this, coming so easily.
I was sitting at my desk this morning on the phone with my bank (on hold, of course; thank you, Bank of America) and I jotted down a quick list of side effects that I have noticed since I started Adderall IR a few weeks ago:
- My hands are definitely shaking. More noticeably after about the first hour or so after I have felt the initial dose "kick in." It gradually decreases from there.
- My handwriting is atrocious. This is probably due to my hands shaking. It is all I can do to write legibly.
- I am extremely nice. I have no idea what this is all about. I am cheery with everyone, genuinely interested in others' well-being. My girlfriend laughs at me because I am "sweeter" whereas I am usually kind of rowdy kind of guy. Not a mean guy, mind you, just more of a "guy's guy" than the softy that I have become while I am on my full dose.
- Sometimes I feel an odd sort of paranoia. I remind myself that it is the drug and I will get used to it, but it's like my "spidey-sense" is tingling sometimes. I got caught by the afore-mentioned girlfriend peeking through the blinds because I was concerned that I heard a garbage truck go down the street more than a couple of times the other day. I had to honestly sit down and laugh it off. I am so not that kind of person.
- I notice an increase in heart rate when the drug is at its peak. This doesn't bother me much. It doesn't seem serious but I am keeping my doc aware.
- Dry mouth. I have been drinking around 1.5 gallons of water a day for a few years now. It's a good habit to get into. Even with this amount of water intake, I still get dry mouth. I actually like this since it makes it easier to ensure that I drink the entire amount daily.
- Increased bathroom trips. (#1) Like I said, I am used to drinking lots of water so that isn't the reason for the increase. I have read that this is common and passes after time. It's not so much that it is a great bother but at first it was every 30 to 45 minutes. Now it's once every hour to hour-and-a-half. No biggie.
All of these side effects are really nothing more than a curiosity as I am growing acclimated to the Adderall and a newly increased dose. I was originally 10mg IR 2x per day whereas now I am 20mg IR in the am and 10mg IR in the pm. The side effects declined steadily on the first dose so I am pretty confident that the same will happen on the new.

Maybe you're just less frustrated? Happier?
- Sometimes I feel an odd sort of paranoia.
I noticed this nearly every time I started a new psychoactive med (I tried many before I was correct dx bipolar about 12 years ago.
It always went away after a few weeks.
- Dry mouth. I have been drinking around 1.5 gallons of water a day for a few years now.
Nearly 3 months on Adderall XR and I'm still drinking lots more water.....
- Increased bathroom trips.
But, this has stopped (thank goodness). My son, who's been on it about a month & a half, is also starting to go less. He was up every 20 minutes at first...
You know-I have more frequent bathroom breaks as well--however I enjoy them- there's solid proof that these meds are having an effect! My metabolism has increased- I like being able to feel my heart beat!
I feel that I have more time to make a decision- I find my awareness catching itself and saying "slow down." I've never felt that type of vivid realization that I am rushing. I felt a tingle in my brain as well. Every time I become conciously aware of this rushing, I feel a very noticeable sensation. I feel more capable of slowing down...I still can't really explain it very well...
I noticed that I am much happier. I still must try- but now I just don't feel time pressing into- causing so much stress.
I have periods of disorientation- but those moments are so sensational! There seems to be a bit of control added to everything! Now, my conciousness has clairvoyence.
I think the paranoia is an increase in clarity and distinguishment of the senses. Almost seems like your senses are organized. Now there is extra room- you know how you feel somewhat more paranoid in large open and quiet houses? Except now, there's really nothing to really be paranoid about! Don't say you're paranoid- you are more aware, that's all. Take that awareness- use it to better define your world. Don't worry about it.

Kind of like the behavior might still happen, but you have more control?
Glad to hear it seems to be working for you!
2day was very different- not so much a happy feeling. I felt overfocused most of the time, but it was a bit easier to bounce back from it. grr....I can't explain it...
I had a bit of an awakening-- I felt I could ignore-it's like when I tried, I felt that I slightly could...Like, I dunno if the meds are responsible or my own reasoning....I just don't know.
It's like the behavior is still happening, now I can better recognize it.
