Hey everyone, I was recently put on Paxil 25 mg. for Depression and Social Anxiety and I also have ADD pretty bad, well I was wondering if anyone has heard of ADD symptoms getting worse on Paxil? I've been on it for about a week and a half and I am starting to come out of my depression and I don't know maybe since I haven't used my brain in a while or the Paxil or what but I find it really hard to follow conversation and when people start talking to me I can't help but to sort of start laughing because it sounds funny to me for some reason cause it's just a bunch of jumbling words, on a good note I'm not as depressed but on a bad note I find myself staring blank at people while they talk to me. Also, I would like to hear any success stories with antidepressants, I feel like I have broke down to being dumber and more child like where before I was confident and quick and witty where as now I feel just different. Thanks.

It's not unusual and, in fact, I'd expect some differences in ADD symptoms. Brain chemistry is "linked" in a way that makes it hard to deal with one neurotransmitter and not affect others.
If you're on ADD meds, I would suggest you get your mood stabilized before making any changes to those meds.
No, I'm not on any ADD meds yet, I'm suppose to get on some soon. I got a question, do you think ADD meds will make me any quick or wittier, and also do they curb humour or enhanse it? I just want to be able to laugh and have a good time again but I don't know if that will ever happen with all these meds, I don't wanna be walking around like a robot.

Everyone's different.
Psych meds do NOT make you act like a robot, though.
These meds don't change who you are. They just allow you to experience appropriate emotions at normal levels (Paxil) and think more clearly (stimulants for ADHD).
Don't worry. You'll be glad in the end!
