I am thinking of taking my son off the adderall. His mood is terrible and he is still not sleeping well, eating well and it has been over 3 months on this med. Any advice on side effects or how to handle anything that may come up?

I would suggest taking him off of it slowly

I would suggest talking to your doctor first about taking him off of a medicine that was prescribed...even if it is short acting like adderall.... or getting a second opinion from another doctor....good luck...

I would agree with hoosiergirl. Talk to his doc and set up a plan to adjust/change meds accordingly.

This may sound counterintuitive, but his dose may actually be too low. My son was moody for a while and others have complained of insomnia and moodiness that have disappeared on higher doses.
