But isn't the xr about the individual lil bits inside and not the gelatin capsule? Or can I buy capsules and make my own 2.5 capsules?

I want to take 2.5 mgs of xr, as it feels smoother. I'm very sensitive to EVERYTHING, and felt totally over whelmed on 5mg IR. Physically I was fine, no shakes or anything, but my mind was so slow it couldn't connect with anything.

2.5 ir is better I think, but 5mg made me feel even more scattered etc. I took 5mgs once on sat and sun and monday and I feel like I lost a whole weekend because I can't remember what I did!!

Has anyone experienced getting WORSE on adderall?

I feel much better with less. Anyone else feel like this?

Yeppers it can be opened it's one of the reasons my little brother was given Adderall to begin with. He couldn't swallow pills yet.

Oh btw 2.5mg of IR is the same as 5mg of XR. XR is extended release so there are two doses in there one that works right away then the other that is released later. If you took 5mg of IR before that would be similar to 10mg of XR

I split them all the time. It might be that the manufacturer wants to make sure the patient takes the full amount prescribed...

You won't get anywhere near an accurate dose if you split the XR though. It's not like you can tell which part is the fast acting and which part is the stuff that kicks in later.

I'd think the effectiveness would be unreliable and pretty random since you'd effectively be taking a different dose of the medication everyday. I've never tried it so I don't know but it sounds like a bad idea in theory.

Thats correct, you can open the capsules to take the smallest dose possible. Just make sure your inside so wind doesn't leave you missing your medication! haha ADD people would not be prone to do that:cool: I want to help you more but each person has to find the dosage that is for them. The advice for you is to believe in yourself and your body. I don't care if its a doggy dog world or not do whats best for you no matter what. Thats plain and simple. Don't listen to everything your doctor says because they are in for their agenda and some of them are sick on money. :p hey me, reading this post I am contemplating new doctor. Some of what they say is true and some is not. I'm not saying they don't care but they don't know truth from marketing hype. If you want to talk about it feel free to send a message I may have some useful info.
